The subject of this work is the beginning of women's ice hockey in Kladno, Czech Republic. This study deals with the continuity of the team in its early years from 1986 to 1992. The author uses Clifford Geertz interpretative approach to culture and oral history as a method. The rise of Kladno women's hockey club is shown in the context of women's hockey history in the World and Czechoslovakia. The story of the club is based on analysis and interpretation of interviews which were led with seven hockey players from the first generation. The work shows everyday life of hockey players in Kladno and also shows the dynamic of the team life in late eighties. The whole story is situated in social and sport life in Kladno, where ice hockey was very popular game and entertainment. As a crucial factors, which helped the preservation of the club after it was abandoned by its founders, were identified firstly the transition of the team from "friendship first" club to the team where it is mostly important "what happened on the ice" secondly the ability of the first hockey players to accept new joiners. The paper explains founding of the tradition of one sport club in former Czechoslovakia.

This thesis describes regional functions of libraries in the Central Bohemia Region in the years 2001-2011, it focuses on funding reduction in 2011-2012 and through a survey it identifies the attitudes of operated libraries in the current period. The introductory chapter briefly describes the theoretical and legislative definitions of regional functions performance, objectives, standards and funding at the nationwide level. It defines the objectives of the regional functions such as ensuring availability and a comparable quality of public librarian and information services for citizens in all parts of the Czech Republic, promoting effective labour distribution and coordination of professional librarian activities and efficient use of public financial resources. The second part is devoted to the performance of regional functions in the Central Bohemia Region. The period in which these functions are implemented is divided into two stages, which are compared. It describes the effect of the Concept of support for libraries from the budget of the Central Bohemia Region to the activities of libraries in the region, the consequences of reduced financial contribution to the regional activities in 2010-2011 and briefly suggests possible solutions. The aim of this thesis is to describe and evaluate the current situation regarding the funding of public libraries in the Czech Republic. The introduction comprises a concise definition of the legislative framework for funding public libraries. In the main section of the work the author deals with the system of libraries providing public library and information services and how these libraries can be established. Then the analysis of the financial resources that can be used by these libraries follows, i.e. grants by founders, national and international programs and projects to support libraries, fundraising, donating, sponsoring, patronage, volunteering, grants by foundations, libraries' own business. There is also a description of pricing and financial policy, analysis of the financial management of libraries in various regions and the influence of the economic crisis on library budgets. The main part of the thesis related to the whole Czech Republic is followed by the part aimed only at the Central Bohemian.
