Židé na Frýdecku a Místecku. Židovské společenství a jeho tvůrci. / Jews in Frýdek and Místek Region. Jewish community and its creators.

Baránek, Daniel January 2011 (has links)
This thesis is concerned with the process of founding, development, decline and destruction of the Jewish community in the Region of Frýdek and Místek. This community represents one of the Jewish communities in Moravia and Silesia being evolved due to the emancipation of the Jews. In comparison with the majority of the existing treatises on the Moravian and Silesian "emancipatory" Jewish communities, this thesis focuses not only on external phenomenons (the number and socio-economic status of the Jews, the construction of religious buildings), but also and mainly pays attention to the Jewish community itself, to its internal evolution and limits, different concepts of its development, to religious and later also to national identity of the members of the Frýdek-Místek Jewish community. The thesis also traces the limits of the integration of the Jews into the surrounding society, as well as the territorial specifics result- ing from the fact that this Jewish community was located in the Moravian-Silesian border. 1

Genetická genealogie a komunity vzniklé okolo ní / Genetic genealogy and communities formed around it

Pokorná Ročňáková, Lucie January 2018 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to introduce genetic genealogy (the genealogical DNA test analyzes samples of genetic material for genealogy purposes, mostly does not serve as a tool for health diagnostics, or it does not detect genetic predisposition or disorder) and to analyze the online communities around it. The thesis answers the question of the extent to which these groups differ from groups of supporters of the traditional approach (whose main focus lies mainly in archival research). On the example of several specific communities, the author tries to show what aspects are dominant in this new kind of online activities and critically evaluate them.

Obraz novináře v období první republiky / The image of the journalist during the period 1918-1938

Junová, Magdalena January 2015 (has links)
This thesis examines the image of the journalist that is based on a particular text corpus - on articles collected in newspaper clipping archive of Czechoslovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the period of "the first Czechoslovak republic." The method of this paper is inspired by Stanley Fish's concept of interpretive communities - in this case the interpretive community consists of the authors of the articles mentioned above. As they design the image of their own profession, it becomes a tool for understanding journalist's identity - it defines what is appropriate and what is not. The self-portrait of journalist does not only include a paragon of virtue that is to be followed but also a set of attributes, which journalists find typical for themselves: interestingly the main attributes do not seem to change much over time and in different newspapers. Therefore, the thesis focuses on common and shared traits of this self-portrait, illustrated by particular examples from the articles. The most important traits are for instance the consciousness of journalist's power and need for responsibility, but also journalist's attitude to truth, independence, time and society.
