This diploma thesis was based on the main theme of Competitive advantage. The theoretical part of this thesis is concerned with concepts of competition, competitiveness and competitive advantage. Next part is based on analysis of outside surroundings where are specified the main methods of analysing company surroundings. The names of the methods are PEST analysis, SWOT analysis and Porter five forces. In the last part of theoretical thesis are explained types of innovation and innovation process. The conceptual part of the diploma thesis is related to company Snag s.r.o. and its evolution in two periods. The aim of these analysis where to name the main elements with the biggest impact. In the end of the first period was made a decision about new company strategy. According to the new company strategy there was effected innovation process that created new product for selling. This innovation has had crucial market to the competitive position of the company. The implementation of the new strategy has started new periond of growing the company.

This Diploma thesis aims to identify the Barriers to entry for those who have decided for entrepreneurial activity in the market for Drugs. The main aim of this work is to decide whether it is appropriate to Enter the market or not. In the Theoretical part of the work thoroughly describes the different business strategies, especially PEST analysis, analysis of the industry environment and analysis of competitive forces in the industry according to Porter. In the practical part of the thesis analyzes applied to the pharmaceutical industry and identifies the barriers to entry for new businesses that market. The thesis also includes the formation of the new pharmacy and all requirements related to it. In the final part of the thesis formulated recommendations which should serve prospective operators to decide whether to enter the industry or not.

Franchising in the Czech food market

The topic of this diploma thesis is “Franchising in the Czech food market”. The objective of this thesis is to create a model of entry the food market in form of recommendations for future franchisees. These recommendations will be based on own work of the author, who will use strategic management methods to evaluate the market both internally and externally using methods such as SWOT, PESTE, IFE and EFE matrix or Porter’s five forces. Market analysis will be accompanied by analysis of primary data obtained from owners of active food stores who concentrate on high-quality, farmers’ and regional products. Regression analysis is used to process these data and provide results on which factors are important and which influence the economic performance of the food store. Advantages and disadvantages of franchising as seen by experienced franchisees are then presented to complete all necessary information to give final recommendation for potential franchisees for their future entrance to the market.

The aim of the final thesis was implementation of strategic analysis of dental orthodontia laboratory. The final thesis should help to laboratory during the process of transformation to social entrepreneurship. Strategic analysis pursues macroeconomic and microeconomic environment that influence enterprise in profitable and nonprofit surroundings. In case that laboratory will execute all statutory claims, transformation could be done in january 2011. Results of the analysis proved very good strategic position of laboratory between competition. High quality of the products was the main reason. I determined two strategic aims for laboratory as social entrepreneurship. The one of them deal with the employing of the handicapped or disadvantaged people in the labour market. The second one focus on the sustenance of the contemporary high quality. I divided these aims to the six tactical goals.

Nejdříve teoreticky popisuji proces strategického managementu a jednotlivé interní a externí strategické analýzy. Ve druhé části této práce popisuji podnik, kde spracovávám diplomovou práci. V poslední části aplikuji teoretické poznatky přímo na podnik JIP Papírny Větřní, a.s. . Z výsledku těchto základních analýz navrhuji konkrétní strategii a porovnávám ji se současnou strategií podniku. V závěru své práce se pokusím celkově zhodnotit postavení podniku na trhu a nově zvolenou strategii podniku.

The main goal of the Master's Thesis is to create one year marketing plan for the Müller for year 2012, which will be in accordance with actual market position and development of the Müller company. The Master's Thesis combines theoretical and practical approach and offers a comprehensive look at the issue of marketing plan. The first part deals with the situation analysis, including internal data, research data from research agency AC Nielsen and Porter's model of competing forces. The output of the situation analysis is the evaluation of opportunities and threats, strengths and weaknesses of the company, under which the marketing goals were proposed. Regarding the marketing goals a new strategies of marketing mix were suggested. The proposal of individual activity and their timing is illustrated in the chart of the action plan. The last part summarizes the systems of measurement and controls Design of individual activities and their timing is contained in the Action Plan. At the end are summarized measurement systems and controls.
