The thesis themed ´Analysis of the company in a competitive environment´ deals with the competitive market matters in the area of energetics located in the Pilsen Region. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of the company and the competition which is detailed eliminated in other problems of competitiveness and competitive environment. The next theoretical bases of this thesis is the environment analysis of the company. Analyses of the internal environment are described here but also analysis of the external environment is detailed classified. The theoretical part is completed by the SWOT analysis. The aim of the practical part is the analysis of the competitive environment applied to the company Plzeňská teplárenská, a.s. On the basis of predermined work hypotheses happen the analysis of single matters. At the beginning of the practical part is the description of researched company and further the analysis of the internal and external environment of Plzeňská teplárenská, a.s. In the next phase the description of main products of the company is drawn up. The SWOT analysis that also helps detailed analysis of predermined work hypotheses is made.

Strategické možnosti ve vinařství v České republice

The topic of this dissertation thesis is the wine sector and its main aim is to define recommendations for enterprises in this sector and for enterprises that are just considering the entrance. Suggested recommendations are results of external environment analysis, assessment of attractiveness of the sector and complex analysis of the competition in the sector. According to the results, a recommendation for two extreme cases of enterprises considering the entrance to the sector has been suggested. In first case -- a micro company, cautious entrance with minimal investments, differentiation of the production and than gradual growth of market share was suggested. For a company of medium size that means need of high investments -- especially into technology and marketing. Recommendations were also suggested for two model examples of current enterprises. Micro companies should be focused on realization of conservative strategies like market penetration, concentric diversification and costs minimization. On the other hand, companies of medium size should be focused on realization of aggressive strategies such as development of new products, diversification, and backward, forward or horizontal integration. Also usability of modification of statistic method of cluster analysis as appropriate tool for competition group analysis has been verified.

It is followed by a description of competitive environment of travel agents. The following capture introduces the theoretical information about Competitive Intelligence. This thesis examines the legal regulation of the competitive behavior of employees with the emphasis on non-competition clause. This thesis aims to critically evaluate the status of the current legislation regarding the non-compete clauses and suggest what changes should be made in order to the non-compete clause would be used effectively and fulfill its purpose. The thesis analyzes in detail the historical development of non-competition clauses in the Czech republic and further explores this institute in the light of current legislation, case law and expert opinions. It also compares the legislation of this clause in four foreing countries - France, Great Britain, Germany and Slovakia. Finally, this thesis shows how non-comptete clauses are used in practice and if employers believe in their effectiveness as a tool for the protection of know-how.
