Kriminologické aspekty korupce / Criminological aspects of corruption

Skopalíková, Veronika January 2019 (has links)
Criminological aspects of corruption Abstract This master thesis focuses on several selected criminological aspects of corruption, aiming to explore them from the criminological point of view. This master thesis, however, does not necessarily aim to provide practical solutions for control of corruption. The first part is focused on the criminology as a science, since it is the basis of this master thesis. The main topics of this part are the crimonology as a term, its subject and its brief history. Next, the attention is pointed towards definition of the term of corruption, given its disunited approaches to its definition, and compares the numerous takes on the definition from the literature and various institutions. The master thesis also brings forward various types and kinds of corruption, including petty corruption, grand corruption or state capture, as well as distinguishing between the types of corruption based on various factors. Given that the corruption may manifest in multiple forms or degrees of institutionalization, variants and syndromes of corruption according to Johnston are not omitted. Corruption is an important social phenomenon causing far-reaching consequences that may, however, not necessarily be easily seen, or they may even be overlooked. In order to understand this pathological...

Problematika osobnosti pachatele v kriminologii / The Issue of an Offender's Personality in Criminology

Pechová, Monika January 2021 (has links)
The Issue of an Offender's Personality in Criminology Abstract The major topic of my diploma thesis is the issue of an offender's personality in criminology. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the reader to the issue from criminological perspective, to make him familiar with various opinions on an offender's personality which have developed throughout the history, and to describe the phenomenon of juvenile delinquency and criminality against children and juveniles. The cardinal topic of the first part is scientific discipline criminology with its historical roots, distribution to particular subdisciplines, and relation to other criminal sciences. The second part provides a summary of main criminological schools and theories which have been formed since the beginning of criminological thinking and had different opinions on offender and his personality. The term criminal offender has various meanings from the view of substantive criminal law, procedural criminal law, and the view of criminology. These meanings are explained in the third part. The most important is the fourth part which deals with an offender's personality, relevant internal and external factors that are affecting human personality and the best-known typologies focused on offender's biological dispositions, psychological dispositions, and...

Kriminologické aspekty trestných činů z nenávisti / Criminological Aspects of Hate Crime

Vlček, Vítězslav January 2021 (has links)
Criminological Aspects of Hate Crime Abstract Hate crime refers to a set of crimes committed for a prejudicial motive against a group of people for their essential personality characteristics such as nationality, religion, or sexual orientation. Topicality of the issue stems from the fact that related social phenomena such as racism, xenophobia, radicalisation, or discrimination of minorities are far from being satisfactorily dealt with even in Western society. The fundamental goal of this thesis is to provide the reader with a comprehensive criminological view of hate crimes in the territory of the Czech Republic. Main findings include the following: the concept of hate crime is not unified in theory nor legislation in terms of protected characteristics, which negatively translates into research and policy of hate crime. The quantity of registered crime is in the order of less than 200 crimes per year, its trend is downward, and its structure is predominantly non-violent; unfortunately, it is also accompanied by high latency. The Czech perpetrator is usually male and a repeat offender, in early adulthood, with a basic education and without a factual relationship to extremist groups. Victims of violent forms of hate crime are, in principle, suffering more intense harm (especially psychological) than victims...

Padělání a pozměňování peněz / Counterfeiting and altering of money

Barák, Michal January 2012 (has links)
in English This thesis deals with the issue of counterfeiting, in terms of both criminal and criminological perspective. Its opening is devoted to the money, especially to their historical development. The following chapter, number three, continuously moves to the description of the most widely used security features of money, especially of banknotes. Although these security features are not the subject of my thesis, this part can look quite dominant. However, I am convinced that the technical protection of money plays the pivotal role it the whole issue, so I gave them enough space at the beginning of work. The following section deals with the valid legislation and focuses primarily on the enumeration and analysis of the actus reaus under the Criminal Code. In my opinion, the focus only on criminal legislation is inadequate, and therefore I consider it is necessary to mention also other legislation which is significantly related, ie Act No. 136/2011 Coll., on the circulation of banknotes and coins and amending Act No. 6/ 1993 Coll. on the Czech National Bank, as amended, which contains mainly the Czech National Bank's role in the issues mentioned above and responsibilities of defined group of persons handling the money suspected of counterfeiting. The procedure of the Police of the Czech Republic...

Kulturní kriminologie a narativní analýza / Cultural criminology and narrative analysis

Vacková, Markéta January 2016 (has links)
The theme of this thesis is Cultural criminology and narrative analysis. The work is divided into four chapters that focus on the subject of cultural criminology, its methods and benefits. The first chapter introduces cultural criminology, its main concepts, influences and development. The second chapter presents selected methods of cultural criminology in detail, namely ethnography and media analysis. The third section describes in detail the narrative analysis and its benefits. In addition, this chapter provides an example of using this method of narrative analysis in a document created by Anders Breivik before his terroristic attacks in Oslo, Norway in July 2011. Finally, the third chapter introduces the narrative criminology, criminological approach to the study of crime that is emerging as an independent forensic industry. The fourth chapter summarizes the benefits and drawbacks of cultural criminology and its possibilities as a criminological movement. The aim of this thesis is to present cultural criminology - new theoretical and methodological approach to the study of crime that places crime and its control in the context of culture. The objective of this thesis is to acquaint readers with how this trend evolved, with its subject, methods and theoretical foundations. This work presents how...
