Analýza a srovnání činnosti pověřených regionálních pracovišť pro péči o tradiční lidovou kulturu / Analysis and Comparison of Activities of the Assigned Regional Centres of Care for Traditional Folk Culture

This Diploma Thesis is focused on the issues of care for the traditional folk culture in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part there is described the development of international and Czech legislative in the field of traditional folk culture, which has an impact on the practical care. The care is practised by the assigned regional centres of care for traditional folk culture in all regions of the Czech Republic. The assigned centres work in accordance with the Strategy of Improved Care for Traditional Folk Culture in the Czech Republic 2011-2015. Aim of this thesis is to find out by means of analysis and comparison whether the assigned regional centres fulfil the specific tasks formulated in the Strategy. For this purpose a special questionnaire was created and evaluated. The results of the analysis will be used as a source material by the Ministry of Culture Czech Republic. On the basis of the results it will be possible to change, reduce of re-formulate the tasks for the regional centres in the new Strategy.

Ekonomické a sociální dopady kulturního cestovního ruchu v ČR / Economic and social impacts of cultural tourism in the Czech Republic

The work observes the positive relationship between culture and tourism and quantifies the economic and social (or socio-economic) impacts of cultural tourism in the Czech Republic. The first part showcases successful cultural projects in the Czech Republic and abroad, which attract tourists and provide destinations with financial resources and create new jobs. The author characterizes these positive economic and social impacts and benefits on the development of the region and analyzes existing studies of socio-economic impacts, normally processed abroad for cultural organizations and attractions. While in the Czech Republic, these studies are not yet very widespread, they represent a a useful document for the organization itself, but also for providers of grants and financial contributions, or for agencies and authorities designing concepts of culture and tourism. The work presents the basic methodologies used by the economic impact studies and further elaborates the most accurate and also the most demanding method of calculating the impacts, input-output analysis. Using this method, the author proposes a comprehensive model for calculating the economic and socio-economic impacts and benefits. The model uses statistical data of Czech national accounts and is intended for Czech cultural organizations attracting visitors. After using financial data of the surveyed organization and the expenditure of visitors, the model can easily determine the impacts of the organization to increase production, gross value added, employment and income of workers in the Czech Republic. The work builds on a lot of foreign findings, which seeks to apply in domestic conditions while using local data.

Národní kulturní instituty: Případová studie Francouzského institutu a Ruského centra pro vědu a kulturu / The development of National Institutes for Culture: The Case Study of the French (Institut Français) and Russian (Russian Centre of Science and Culture) Cultural Centres

in English This study of the Institut Français (IF) and the Russian centre of science and culture (RCSC) is significant because it reveals different models of functioning for a cultural centre in an international global context. The main purpose of the paper was to analyse the differences between the two cultural centres (IF and RCSC) and figure out in which way these differences influence the development of the cultural centres abroad. According to our main goal we operate within conceptual and theoretical framework: the national culture and soft power (as reasons of the development of national cultural centres), the globalization (as a condition of their development), the nation branding (as the result of their functioning). Moreover, this paper supports the hypotheses that national cultural centres abroad define their cultural strategies whilst facing the realities of other countries and that the roles of managers of cultural centres are fundamental. This work is divided into three main chapters. The first explains why the IF and RCSC centres were created by analysing the history of their transformations. Konverze Beuronské kaple / Conversion of Beuron Chapel

The chapel of the former boromeian closter in Teplice is an important example of the work of monastery art school of benedictins of Beuron. The closter, today the building of the high school of Teplice, was built on the place of former city walls, connected by a prestigeous bouleward with the city center. Today, the building is surrounded by a non-valuable buildings, the bouleward is full of transport during the whole day and near is a highway. The old architectural structure was mainly destroyed and replaced by block of flats made of concrete. The topic ic getting the life back into the building and connect the building back into the public space, to join the "public=city" with the "private=school". The topic is to gain back the dignity and certain monumentality. The topic is to create the space for school activities, workschops, meetings, exhibitions, happenings, and last, but not least, weddings. The high school students should be the future intelectual elity of the space and newly reconstructed space may has the power to reinforce their linkage with the place, which can possibly mean they will search for a job in Teplice after their university studies. I belive, that the architecture has the power to attach the people to the space and to establish the genius loci. And such an opening of the space deserve the gymnasium and the chapel (which is not known to the public in Teplice) 20 years after the Velvet revolution, which itselves, was an opening of the space on the level of politics.
