Le contexte social de la langue dans l'enseignement du français : Une étude de l'enseignement socioculturel de la languefrançaise en Suède

Knight, Nikita January 2016 (has links)
This investigation studies whether Swedish pupils learn the sociocultural rules of the French language during French lessons. It examines and analyses the content of the French school books of two French classes at upper secondary school level, first and second years, and the observations of these two classes in order to determine if socioculture is part of the pupils teaching and if they are given the possibility to practice what they have learned. Furthermore, the teachers of each of the classes were interviewed so as to define what their thought about sociocultural rules, their importance in the French language and teaching, and whether these two teachers use specific methods so as to teach these rules. In order to decide the importance of socioculture and its place in the classroom, the three analysis were related to each other. This study in important because every language and country has its social rules and norms connected to the language. Knowing them enables a better communication. Accuracy and fluency are important, but so is being able to adapt the language.
