"Podmínky exilu: jazyk, text a historie u Libuše Moníkové a Milana Kundery" / "Conditions of exile: language, text and history in the work of Libuše Moníková and Milan Kundera"

Reuter, Magdalena Antonia January 2012 (has links)
This diploma thesis aims to demarcate the term "exile" and its conditions, further the thesis explores the impacts this experience has on a writer's work, especially the problem of writing in a foreign language and the character of translation. Concretely the present thesis is based on the literary work of Libuše Moníková and Milan Kundera. The first chapter examines the general research field in detail and the occurrence of related themes in the production of both authors. The following two chapters treat individual aspects of work created under the condition of exile - language and translation on the one hand, the correlations of text and history on the other. The findings of all analyses performed within this diploma thesis relate not only to the individual authors, but can be employed to specify and supplement the over-all picture of Czech literature of the second half of the 20th century, as the phenomenon of exile is essential for the understanding of this specific period. Keywords Literature in exile, Milan Kundera, Libuše Moníkové, Prague Spring, translation.

Motiv cesty (domů) ve významu návratu ke kořenům v díle Jaroslava Rudiše (Winterbergs letzte Reise) a Libuše Moníkové (Zjasněná noc) / Motive of a journey in the meaning of going back to the roots included in the work of Jaroslav Rudiš and Libuše Moníková

Peteříková, Pavlína January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis is devoted to a central motive of a journey home in the sense of returning to the roots in two books by Czech authors writing in German, Jaroslav Rudiš and Libuše Moníková. These are the novels Winterbergs letzte Reise and Zjasněná noc. The first part of the thesis is theoretical and deals with space as a narratological category. The findings are drawn mainly from the publication Narratology: strukturální analýza vyprávění. Within the theory there is also an introduction to topology listed as a literary discipline, drawn notably from two publications of the literary theorist Daniela Hodrová, Místa s tajemstvím and Poetika míst: kapitoly z literární tematologie. In addition to the history of this science, more details are given about the four important toposos, which are often part of the narratives. Specifically these are the topos of the city, room, road and Czech pub. The first part of the diploma thesis includes factual information about Moníková and Rudiš, including a brief outline of content of both analyzed novels. The second part of the thesis is called analytical, because it analyzes space in both novels. The space itself is first viewed from the narratological point of view, then the motive of the journey in various, whether symbolic or specific meanings is explained in...

Libussa / Libuše: das mythische Symbol des Patriotismus und seine Rolle in der Böhmischen Opernrepräsentation

Karbusicky, Vladimir January 1998 (has links)

Smrt a návrat autora v perspektivě filosofie identity / "I Become Speech." Death and Return of the Author in the Perspective of Philosophy of Identity

Martinovská, Anna January 2020 (has links)
Diploma thesis "I become speech." Death and Return of the Author in the Perspective of Philosophy of Identity focuses on the question of inclusion of the author into the interpretation of literary text and aims to highlight the fruitfulness of such inclusion as well as some of its dangers. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part the author of the thesis presents a polemic account of some antiauthorial approaches, especially the "death of the author" as appearing in the texts of R. Barthes, M. Foucault and Jacques Derrida, along with a short mention of antiintentionalism of W. K Wimsatt and M. C. Beardsley and a theory of the model author by U. Eco. The common feature of the aforementioned antiauthorial theories is a reductive idea of the author and his relation to text - the problematic aspects of authorial interpretation, which their texts wish to make evident, is then only a consequence of the problematic underlying notion of the author-subject. The second part of the thesis intends to present an alternative theoretical understanding of the "real author" using the philosophy of identity od J. Butler and P. Bourdieu. These authors are proposing a theory of a person who is not understood as a "real thing" that would be available for a complete delimitation, description and...

České drama v době moderny: obrazy vůdce / Czech Drama in Early Modernism: The Portrayal of Leaders

Pospíšil, Jan January 2021 (has links)
The thesis constitutes the analysis of selected Czech dramas from the beginning of the 20th century representing various portrayals of national leaders. In my view, the dramas are Apollonian images of a kind representing the dreams of their creators about the strength and greatness, both individual and national. That is because, on one hand, the national leader is an exceptional individual, an exquisite human specimen and as such he or she corresponds to Nietzsche's characterization of a tragic hero as the highest phenomenon of the will. But at the same time, he or she is a national educator. Individual works represent various forms of how the leader educates and edifies the nation and whether he or she leads by command or by example. The dramas show us the leaders, who not only tame, purify, but also urge to growth those, whom they lead. The approach of the Czech playwrights is essentially mythopoetic. Their works constitute contributions to the creation or re-creation of national mythology, in other words, they deal with the meaning of the existence of the nation, or the national condition. They represent a dialogue or a polemic with one particular national mythology formed at the time that of T. G. Masaryk as he stated it in his works Česká otázka (1895), Naše nynější krise (1895), and Jan Hus...
