Performance: o desenrolar do drama em um grupo de Capoeira Angola / Performance: the development of drama in a Capoeira Angolas group

Natasha da Veiga Ferreira 28 November 2014 (has links)
This work is a study of case which object consists of a group of capoeira angola that was passing through a transition moment. From the disruption between the two principal leaders of the group that was without master, there was the investigation of the present tensions revealing different points of view about capoeira and the way the group should act through its relationship nets. These differences are meaningful once they are related to the changes around the conceptions about this activity and they are also inserted on the context of transformations in progress at the Rio de Janeiro's city. Conceiving capoeira angola as a life style, the many ways of thinking about it also generate various forms of acting at the society. The methodology is the qualitative research with participant observation. The performance appproach was chose for the belief that values are communicated also by the differences among the movimention. At the final stage of the research, it was concluded that the investigated group was passing through a transition moment, which was considered as a passage, accordingly to Victor Turners studies, already going to the next phase from the indication of the responsible treinel to join a established group.

Enfances handicapées : une liminarité indépassable ? Une approche ethnocritique de la littérature de jeunesse / Childhood and disability : an Inescapable Liminality ? An Ethnocritical Approach to literature for Children and Young Adults

Fouchet, Eugénie 16 May 2018 (has links)
This thesis is a study of the narrative and iconographic representations of physically handicapped children and teenagers in contemporary fiction for children and young adults. The corpus under study includes picture books, comic books, novels and plays. We propose an ethnocritical approach to these texts, based on both a poetics of the literary text and an anthropological approach to the symbolic. The first part of the thesis focuses on the process of initiation of the character. We show how the handicapped child or adolescent constructs his/her identity within the framework of child or adolescent cosmologies which are to some extent recreated or reshaped by the narrative (or iconographic) destiny of the character. Particular attention will be paid to the role of games, art, deep literacy, and imagination. The second part examines the cultural and symbolic representations surrounding the body of the handicapped person. From this point of view, two opposite (but sometimes complementary) attitudes appear: the first one focuses on the over-visibility (and sometimes even on the abnormality/anomaly) represented by the handicapped body and the other, inversely, on its erasure or euphemisation, and thus on its more or less sublimated liminal status. We will attempt to demonstrate how the relationship between text and image often leads to a dialogue between these two attitudes. What is at stake from an ethical and educational point of view in a literary “stylization” of physical handicaps and in the forms of symbolic return to a wild state involved in contemporary representations? And what strategies for overcoming or transcending physical handicaps are offered by activities involving play, dreaming or critical distance? Is it possible to detect a new attitude, a new art?

Throughout these three hundred years or so, Christianity went from a relatively unknown religion to the main form of adoration in Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales. First, there were missionaries from the continent, and then there were monks and monasteries in the islands. Later, there were missionaries from the islands and monasteries in the continent. When these missionaries arrived, they brought with them the Gospel as it was preached and lived in Rome; when they departed, they were preaching like the Celts, living like the Celts and believing like the Celts. For a while, it seemed like there would be two Churches. Then the world changed: the Middle Ages arrived and the Celts were Romanized. However, some of what they preached, lived and believed came thru, modified, adapted and ready to face whatever challenges this new world might impose them. That is the reason why this dissertation aims at showing how was it that Celtic-speaking people lived before Christianity, how were them converted, how did they comprehend Christianity and what happened after that. In order to do that, the text articulates itself around the image of some of the most important founders of monasteries, men who later became saints: Patricius, Columba and Columbanus. Moreover, its main goal is to show that, during the time frame in question, Celtic monasteries functioned not only as an expression of faith or religion as an institution but also a geographical space of historical liminarity; the very essence of time-space transition / Os séculos V, VI e VII são conhecidos, dentro da história dos países de língua celta como a Era dos Santos .
