The thesis compares methods and forms of Czech language teaching at secondary grammar school and Waldorf lycée. The first part deals with the theoretical basis of traditional and alternative education, whereas the second part focuses on their practical implementation as methods and forms of work. The observed lessons are analysed and the results of traditional and alternative approach are contrasted by a test. The aim is to ascertain whether the alternative school implements its principles into methods and forms of language teaching and whether they are more effective than the traditional ones. The thesis concludes that the alternative school implements only a few aspects of alternative education resulting in more active and engaged pupils. The results of the test imply that both schools are comparable in terms of language knowledge. KEYWORDS teaching Czech language, syntax, upper-secondary school, grammar school, waldorf lycée

The aim of the diploma thesis was to find right solution for building that represents school in complicated conditions of Ostrava"s city center. School stands on the border between the city and nature.

The content of this thesis is to find the difference between the system of secondary education of the subject accounting in the Czech Republic and in France. The main focus is on the first year of study of this subject. There is seperately described the system of teaching in business schools in the Czech Republic and on the other side the system of teaching in vocational schools in France. There are identified their differences, advantages and disadvantages using the comparison of both systems as well assuggested recommendations that could help to improve the established educational system.

Assigment of the Diplom Project was to design complex of school buildings in the Ostrava city, on Black Maddow. Design should be based on the winning project from Maxwan architectural studio. They won the urbanistic competition in this area. I decides to devide funktions to the 3 different buildings – Kindergarten, Primary school and Lyceé in a one builging and the multifunktional sport hall. Kindergarten ist placed in the park, on the riverbank. Primary school and Lyceé are connected in one building, which is situated in the ring of buildings arround the Black Maddow. Parter under the building is public and building is situated on the most frekvent place, where the footpath are crossing. Near the school building is designed a sport hall, which is not just for school use but also for public.

The project concerns itself with a current issue concerning the use of the social space, Černa louka, situated a short distance from the centre of Ostrava. This project adds new facilities - educational, sports, gastronomical, and scientific - to the original competion proposal. What is more, this brings new input to the area responding to the needs of local inhabitants. The complex of educational buildings is designed as a new principle of vertical compact form.
