The focal points are trees growing outside forest in the cadastral municipality Tatenice. Current development was compared through historical records from 1982 and the field survey of the current state. The goal was therefore to process the data and findings of historical research, compare them to present and evaluate possible changes. Trees outside forests are specified in detail, evaluates their health, functionality, indicate the area and species composition. Then, they were drawn in the map, which are included among the Annexes to this work.

This thesis deals with the analysis of changes in the selected area, specifically in the cadastral Vodňany. The aim of this study was to evaluate changes in the period between 1842 - 2011. As a bases were used maps of the 2nd military mappings, the state map derived of 1: 5000 and the current orthophoto updated in 2011. The maps of the 2nd military mappings were obtained using a WMS service of the National INSPIRE Geoportal, the state map derived orthophoto and the current drawn from the order of the portal CUZK. All work involving the preparation of maps, map outputs and associated data acquisition were made in the ArcMap 10 program. The obtained data were further processed, there were created tables and graphs that serves as an overview of land use changes in the area and they were all created in Microsoft Excel. This work tries to answer on why these changes occurred and what was the reason for the change of land use in the area.

Automatic publication of data and metadata for map and catalogue systems from raster sources in PostgreSQL Abstract The main goal of the presented work is the design and implementation of the application for the automatic publication of the raster data and metadata from the PostgreSQL database to the map and catalog services. The application should exclusively utilize the open source software and technologies. The fundamental component of the developed application is the PostgreSQL database with the PostGIS and PostGIS raster extensions. The presented work evaluates the possibilities of the raster storage from different points of view -e.g. the suitability for the further data processing or the publication of the raster data. The most suitable structure for raster storage is then proposed with respect to analytical and publication usage of the stored data. The possibilities of the open source software for the solution and implementation of the presented problem are then inspected. The GeoNetwork and GeoServer are utilized as a metadata and map server solution. The results of the deployment of these technologies is then evaluated for the real world data and compared with other available related solutions. The diploma thesis deals with online map sources and the ability of using them in the Geography education on the 2nd grade of primary schools. The main goal is to create two map applications in the ArcGIS and worksheets and the possibility of applying them into the Geaography education in primary schools. The theoretical parts deals mainly with the issue of teaching Geography in primary schools and making of didactic tools, with focus on digital ones. In the practical part the author focuses on map applications, creating worksheets and their integration into the educational process. The practical part includes also a brief analysis of free accesible map sources and their usage in the educational process. At the end, there is an evaluation of the ability of using the ArcGIS applications in the education.

The intention of my thesis is to analyze the volume and the method of application ancient maps by land consolidation, especially land maps. Special attention was paid to document preparation and transformation of grids. The result is, that the ancient maps are used most by renewal of field paths, hydro engineering works, shape of parcels optimization and solution of property ratio.

The aim of this thesis is to create various thematic layers for the Zdíkovský stream catchment. The first step was to collect maps and compare them with the actual state, followed by the digitizing of these documents and the creation of thematic layers. Map outputs were created from the individual layers and their combinations and were analyzed. The result is a set of GIS layers for the catchment. ArcGIS Desktop 9.1 program developed by ESRI was used in this work. Elaborated set of layers will be further used for research and educational purposes by the Department of Land Adjustment.

This thesis covers the topic of determination of geographical location of a host in internet network while utilizing measurement of the end to end delay and implementation of Constraint-Based Geolocation. Gradually I go through issue of the delay in computer networks and ways how to measure it. Next chapter describes a few ways to geolocate host in internet network with emphasis on the CBG method. Another chapter is dedicated to describing a way to project spherical coordinates to the two dimensional space, which has been used in implementation of geolocation method. Chapter about implementation builds upon the facts given in previous chapters while functions of the program written in the JAVA programing language are being explained. Two similar geolocation methods were implemented. By comparing the results gained by implementation, new method of geolocation is proposed and devised. It combines properities of both previous methods. There are results of the implemented methods and their comparation to the one of the source documents used in creation of this thesis in summary section.

The presented diploma thesis belongs to studies that deals with map skills. This thesis focuses on thematic maps - namely the choropleth map and proportional symbol map - and research correlation between map skills and mathematical skills. The main aim is to research correlation between these two variables using didactic test. This thesis also researches the effect of success in a given mathematical skill in the mathematical part of the test on success rate in questions that examine that skill in the map part of the test. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the mathematical skills that are needed while working with maps were defined and analysed. Given that various mathematical skills are needed while working with various cartographic expression methods, detailed list of these skill has been developed for the four most widely used cartographic methods - flow map, area class map, choropleth map and proportional symbol map. The main part of the thesis is devoted to general testing of map and mathematical skills among pupils in the ninth grade of elementary schools and corresponding class of grammar schools.
