Krize identity z pohledu transgender / Identity crisis from transgender's perspectiveBurdová, Veronika January 2022 (has links)
The work aims to explore the identity of transgender on the basis of gender and trans studies. The problem is formulated here as an identity crisis, which is currently gaining more and more response. The focus of the crisis is the very situation in trans-politics, stimulated by conflicting feelings stemming from the consequences of Judith Butler's performative theory of gender, whose work has become the founding text of queer theory. Opposition is forming in this crisis, with the transgender identity facing one another as one that supports Butler's conclusions, and the transgender (subordinated to the transgender identity) side, whose subjective experience of body forces to criticize performativity and opens up thus the question of the redefinition of essentialism. The aim of this work is to examine the current crisis of identity from the perspective of trans studies with emphasis on the issue of the body, as a determining aspect of the identification of oneself and others as male or female identity. The starting point will be Judith Butler's grasp of the subject of corporeality and analysis of the critique of her approach from from the perspectives of gender and trans studies. The conclusions of this critique should outline new ways of capturing and preserving gender identity. KEYWRODS Gender,...

Všední sebelegitimizace moci: distribuce vnímatelného v izraelských osadách na Západním břehu / Mundane Self-Legitimizations of Power: Distribution of the Sensible in the Israeli Settlements in the West BankZáhora, Jakub January 2018 (has links)
Bibliographic Record ZÁHORA, JAKUB. Mundane Self-Legitimizations of Power: Distribution of the Sensible in the Israeli Settlements in the West Bank. Prague, 2017. 277 p. Doctoral dissertation (Ph.D.) Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of Political Studies. Thesis supervisor: PhDr. Ondřej Ditrych, MPhil., Ph.D. Abstract: In this doctoral thesis I am looking into mechanisms, practices and political technologies that work to depoliticize contested and potentially disturbing realities. To make sense of these processes, I am utilizing the theoretical and conceptual apparatus derived from Foucault's and Rancière's respective works. Following Rancière, I conceptualize depolitization as a "distribution of the sensible", a particular ordering of what is presented to the senses and thus made intelligible, "obvious" and "natural". Understanding such arrangements in terms of a governmental programme, I focus mostly on material and visual elements of the dispositif that promotes this depoliticizing rationality. Empirically, I am investigating the case of the Israeli so-called non-ideological settlements in the West Bank. Despite some popular misconceptions, these communities attract Israelis by offering cheap public services and housing rather than for their religious-nationalistic...

Tištěné nezávislé magazíny v post-digitální době / Printed Independent Magazines in Post-Digital AgeTeplý, Ondřej January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis Printed Independent Magazines in Post-Digital Age tries to discover the motivation of editors-in-chief/art directors for creating a printed, independent magazine in Central Europe and at the same time how these magazines are influenced by post-digital trends. It uses a qualitative method of Grounded Theory based on data from semi-structured interviews. In the practical part of the research, nine authors from Austria, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary were approached. From the total number of respondents, data was obtained from seven of them. In the theoretical part, the work is focused on the history of independent print, in terms of technological changes in the printing field and it defines the term "printed independent magazine". The main contribution of the work is a mapping of the Central European independent magazine scene, which has not been thoroughly examined in any academic work yet. The text puts this scene in the international context, and it points out the certain specifics which are associated with Central Europe.

Stávání se lékařem/lékařkou z pohledu antropoložky / Becoming a doctor from the viewpoint of anthropologistRebendová, Eva January 2012 (has links)
This paper is about a process of a nascency of new doctors, and how it is possible to approach this topic from the viewpoint of social anthropologist. As a starting point, I use actor-network theory, which is one of the social science paradigms focusing on materiality. I consider it (on the basis of work by Bruno Latour and other scholars, who are dealing with this field), to be a remarkable actor in matters connected with human action, and thus an appropriate subject for an anthropological inquiry. Since the topic concerns medicine in the Czech Republic nowadays, I contribute to the knowledge of medical anthropology, which does not have such a strong academic base here as in the Anglo-Saxon world. Special attention is dedicated to a detailed description of activities leading to the formation of the text of this thesis. Reflexivity, on which I put emphasis, shall serve as the foundation of the context of genesis of an anthropological knowledge and also to describe the ethical concerns of the research. The main methods are observation and semi-structured in-depth interviews with twelve informants, who were medicine students or medicine faculty graduates.

MIZENÍ A CHYBĚNÍ / MISSING AND DISAPPEARINGLanger, Jan January 2017 (has links)
This work documents the author's interest in drawing and is based on the mental background of his artistic creation. The work is guided by the interest in the physical conditions of the drawing itself (materiality of the drawing), but also in the study of drawing as a fluid material of artistic creation, entering into the relationship with the image (drawing as a material). At the same time it deals with the process of creation itself and the phenomenon of repetition. The primary goal of the whole work is not the deliberate laying of pre-formulated questions and the subsequent search for their answers, the presentation of some finished truths, or the mere illustration of a certain issue, but rather the process of finding questions that emerge during the process of creation itself.

Židentita: formace a deformace. Etnografie Moishe House Prague. / Jewish identity: formation and deformation. Ethnography of Moishe House Prague.Adlerová, Nina January 2015 (has links)
This thesis is based on a long-term field research in the Prague Jewish community in which I am trying to express the Jewish identity of young Czech Jews. The aim is to characterize the formation and construction of Jewish identities, their coexistence with other types of social identities and the role of material elements in this process. The formation has a processional nature and there are continual transformations and negotiations of concrete forms of Jewish identities over time. These identities are publicly manifested through various material elements and by this manifestation those identities are also strengthened. I also examine the impact of physical structures and other objects on the Jewish community, how they strengthen its cohesion and on the role that they play in materializing and bringing the collective memories into the present. I simultaneously work with the concept of materiality in the context of the Moishe House Prague project. I examine the position of techno-social tools and the power of leadership. This thesis is based on several theoretical perspectives that I connect and combine in order for me to explore social reality and Jewishness in their entirety. Key words Identity, Jewish identity, material culture, materiality, Moishe House, formation, construct, negotiation...
