Základní znaky migračních procesů v Evropě od konce roku 1918 se zřetelem ČR / The Basic Characteristics of Migration Process in Europe from the the end of 1918 (in consideration of the Czech Republic)

TOMÍŠKOVÁ, Helena January 2010 (has links)
My diploma thesis deals with trends of migration in Europe after 1918 with a particular regard to Czech Republic region. It consists of 5 chapters. The first chapter is aimed at the main definitions concerning migration. The second chapter deals with streams of migration in Europe between 1918 and 1945. The chapter is divided into several subchapters examining the situation between, during and after World War II in European and Czech region. The third chapter reflects the period of Cold War when the migration was of post-colonial or labour character or it was influenced by asylum requests. In addition, the chapter mentions the question of Czechoslovakia which was attached to the eastern communist block after World War II. The fourth chapter is aimed at the migration after 1989 which was defined mainly by the fall of Iron curtain. This event was accompanied by increasing number of eastern migrants and by fear of European Community connected with it. The ?European fortress? started to be built during this period and the main manifestation of this phenomenon was strong restriction outwards and liberation inside. Asylum policy was influenced by war conflicts in Yugoslavia in nineties. The last chapter deals with the Czech Republic after 1989 and it is divided into 3 subchapters ? period between 1989 and 2004, period after joining the European Union and general trends of Czech migration in the last years.

Kontraurbanizace: rytmy, identity, domovy / Counterurbanisation: rhytmus, identities, homes

Šimon, Martin January 2012 (has links)
8 Abstract Counterurbanisation research, which is a central topic of this thesis, represents an appropriate field where transformations of contemporary societies and their socio- spatial organization can be examined. The dynamics of social and societal changes creates a demand for developing new methods and tools which helps us to understand contemporary change. Counterurbanisation is a multi-faceted concept which has been controversial since its initial use. An introduction of the concept of counterurbanisation in the field of population geography provoked a general debate on new and emerging trends in development of settlement system. Different logics of concentration and deconcentration of human activities has been challenged. Counterurbanisation operationalized as a migration poses a challenge for many standard conceptualizations of migration. The logic of non-economically motivated migration from the centre to the periphery requires a search for alternative explanatory mechanisms. Impact assessment and the impact of counterurbanisation in rural communities are analogous to the classical social science studies evaluating the integration of immigrants from rural areas in the cities. The thesis is composed of two basic sections. The first section presents a broader theoretical and methodological...

Politické aspekty migrácie v Českej republike a na Slovensku / Political Aspects of Migration in Czech Republic and in Slovakia

Štefančík, Radoslav January 2004 (has links)
The central hypothesis of this dissertation is based on the finding that, like in the countries of Western Europe under the influence of various circumstances, in the Czech Republic, too, there is a shift from the originally proclaimed multicultural concept of integration towards individual civic integration. The objective of the treatise is not only to verify the anticipated trend in the development of the migration policy, but also to seek causes of its modification. The formulation of a hypothesis that would apply equally to the Czech Republic and Slovakia was more complicated. While the formation of migration policies in the area of integration of immigrants into an autochthonous society enjoys a longer tradition in the Czech Republic -- also due to the higher number of immigrants -- in Slovakia it is in its beginnings so far. Even some of the recently adopted outcomes of public policy proclaimed the objective to implement the multicultural dimension vis-a-vis foreigners. The actual policies, however, bore witness to a completely different approach. The core hypothesis of this treatise has thus been complemented by a subhypothesis relating to the conditions of Slovakia: the multicultural dimension of the approach to immigrants in the past only existed at a theoretical level, and only partially. Given the recent adoption of the concept of integration policy, which is not based on the principles of multiculturalism, references to it represent a residual manifestation of the preceding non-systematic treatment of migration and integration in the outcomes of public policy. In real life, several steps hindering the application of this model's principles have been undertaken. Content analysis and diachronic comparative method applied on the documents under review show that there is a change occurring in the Czech Republic in the area of immigration policies. Whereas prior to the financial crisis the government would willingly employ foreigners, the impact of the crisis has led it to a restrictive immigration policy. Demonstrated was also a content shift in the approach to the integration of foreigners. As regards the formation of Slovak migration policies, the process of policy development proved to be more complicated to follow. Public policies in the area of migration and integration of foreigners since 2009 and the stance of the governmental bodies towards them have been largely indifferent. The Czech Republic clearly displays, over the course of the past several years, a shift from the communitarian/multicultural model toward the individual civic integration. The command of the language is considered to be the main vehicle of integration. The Slovak Republic declared multiculturalism only as a remnant of the non-systematic treatment of integration policies, with virtually nothing changing in the real life of immigrants. There had been practically no integration policy in Slovakia up to 2009. Similarly to the outcomes of public policies, the shift in the perspectives on migration away from multiculturalism has occurred in the political programs of Czech political parties as well. The issue of migration in Slovakia has so far not affected election campaigning. Slovak political parties do not have a clear idea of the possibilities of related to the integration of immigrants.

Migrace v EU - obraz po ekonomické krizi / Migration in the European Union after the economic crisis

Eisenmannová, Eliška January 2013 (has links)
This master thesis describes impacts of economic crisis on migration in the European Union. It analyzes migration flows within the European Union and from the third countries in the time period between 2004 and 2008. The goal of this thesis is to either confirm or deny the hypothesis: the number of people migrating from the southern parts of Europe to the more economically developed central and northern parts of Europe has increased as a consequence of the financial crisis in 2008. The impact of financial crisis on the intra-European migration is analyzed with a migration potential applied on an example of two countries: Italy and Germany.

Ptačí malárie vlaštovky obecné / Avian malaria in the Swallow

Krausová, Simona January 2015 (has links)
Long-distance migratory birds can encounter a wide range of parasites. Various populations of birds within one species use different migration routes and can also winter in different places. It can be supposed that birds which use different migration routes should be infected with different parasites. To study the relationship between the migration and the distribution of parasites we chose the worldwide species barn swallow (Hirundo rustica) and the avian malaria parasites. Swallows migrate long distances in different migrating routes. Some populations of swallows do not migrate, they are resident. This is the reason why swallow is a good model species for finding the answers to questions whether the populations using different migration routes are infected with different parasites or not and whether or not the diversity of parasites is wider in populations which migrate long distances in comparison with the resident populations. The malaria lineages of the genus Plasmodium and Haemoproteus were detected using nested PCR and sequencing. 1242 samples from 8 different localities from the USA, Europe and Asia were tested. We detected 24 different malaria lineages. Within the genus Plasmodium 4 of 16 lines were detected for the first time and in the genus Haemoproteus 3 of 6 lines were detected for the first...

Migrační politika EU: Přispívá migrace k rozvoji třetích zemí? / EU migration policy: Does migration contribute to the development of third countries?

Karlíková, Aneta January 2012 (has links)
Migration is generally considered a problem or at least a negative phenomenon. However, it is considered rather positively in this thesis. I attempt to answer a question whether migration contributes to the development of the countries of origin. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the positive and the negative impacts of migration and remittances on selected countries and to evaluate measures that contribute to a maximization of the positive impacts and a minimization of the negative impacts of migration on development. The first chapter presents the theoretical concept of the impacts of migration and remittances on development. In the second chapter I examine the specific effects of migration and the third chapter summarizes the measures maximizing the positive impacts and minimizing the negative effects of migration on development in the "optimization model of the impacts of migration and remittances on development."

Metodika projektů zajištění kvality a testování datových migrací Deloitte ČR / Data migration and quality assurance and testing projects methodology of Deloitte CZ

Pospíšil, Marek January 2011 (has links)
The main purpose of the thesis is to introduce a method for data migration quality assurance or completeness and accuracy testing of migrated data. Method will become part of the knowledge base of Deloitte Czech Republic for projects in the Enterprise Risk Services department. Data migration quality assurance projects carried by Deloitte in the Czech Republic have its own specifics. Although there exists methodology "Systems Development Playbook" which also includes a data migration methodology, the problem especially of the Prague branch is the fact that the procedures and methods for consulting projects in the area of data migration are not described in current methodological documentations including specifics of the Czech and Slovak projects. This represents a risk of inconsistencies in the implementation of this type of consulting projects in case of key employees leaving. Improving procedures and optimization of human resources engagement in data migration projects can't be measurably compared among projects, if there don't exists a basic methodology against which specific projects can be measured. The objectives of the work are achieved by consolidating experience from past projects involving data migration within Deloitte Czech Republic and designing improvement of existing processes by integrating information from external sources and internal sources of the global Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.

Mediální obraz migrace v českých médiích / Media image of migration in the Czech media

Wiesnet, Renata January 2016 (has links)
This thesis aims to prove or disprove the hypothesis that the media (Mlada fronta DNES and Lidové noviny), owned by a group of MAFRA, creates the media image of a migratory crisis consistent with the preview of the owner Andrej Babis. This thesis examines articles in the newspapers using quantitative content analysis on this topic appearing between March- December 2015. The theoretical section consists of two chapters; first dealing with the media image and the design of the media mechanism and second, introducing the terminology of migration and migration policy. The Thesis also includes the contextual information, capturing and describing the European migration crisis on the basis of these findings and constructed in the design research. The analytical part incorporates knowledge of quantitative analysis and research positions A. Babis. The conclusion answers the research questions that are for the purpose of writing this paper. This work is based on the relevance of the topic and the possible transformation of attitudes of political parties in the coming elections. Keywords: Media representation, migration crisis, refugees, MAFRA, Babiš, migration, media content analysis, ANO 2011, elections, news values

Migrace a potírání jejích nelegálních forem : dosahují neregulérní migranti v EU dostatečné právní ochrany na úrovni Úmluvy OSN o ochraně práv všech migrujících pracovníků? / Tackling irregular forms of migration: irregular migrants in the European Union - do they enjoy the rights contained in the UN Migrant Workers Convention?

Babická, Karolína January 2012 (has links)
The UN Migrant Workers Convention (CMW) that provides for fundamental human rights for migrant workers and members of their families has been adopted in 1990. Until today, none of the EU Member States has signed or ratified it. The EU Member States argue that there is no need for them to accede to the CMW, as, inter alia, the rights contained in it are already secured by other international human rights instruments and in the EU legal instruments. Additionally to the claim of the CMW redundancy for the current EU legal framework, the Member States have several times repeated the fear that the ratification of the CMW could give irregular migrants more rights and increase irregular migration to the EU. Inspired by these two in fact contradictory arguments, this research aims to explore the scope of irregular migrants related human rights protection under international and European law and verify the basis of the EU Member states claims by comparing the scope of rights of irregular migrant workers in the EU with the standards embedded in the CMW. The main research questions posed are What human rights are the irregular migrants entitled to in the EU, based on international and European legal instruments? Is the CMW indeed redundant and unnecessary in the legislative framework of the European Union or is it...
