Současná imigrace občanů Ruské federace do České republiky / Current immigration of citizens of the Russian Federation to the Czech Republic

Pits, Anastasia January 2022 (has links)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the current immigration of Russian citizens to the Czech Republic. The topic is reviewed mainly in the context of demographic deficit and population aging. Russian migration to the Czech Republic has a long history but over time its form and structure have changed significantly. At the same time, migration can have both positive and negative consequences for the Czech Republic, especially from a political and socio-economic point of view. This work presents the concept of so-called replacement migration applied to the Russian minority in the Czech Republic as a possible solution to the emerging demographic problems in the country. Therefore, the extent to which the concept of replacement migration is functional and whether the Russian minority in the Czech Republic is a suitable subject for this concept will be examined. This diploma thesis is a case study with elements of comparative analysis, based on available theoretical concepts and statistical data. Exploring further this topic could open a discussion on the role of migration in the Czech Republic in context of increasing alarming demographic changes.

Displaced Burmese in Thailand: Refugee Policies and Impact on Access and Rights, 1988-2008

Kalnin, Elizabeth 05 April 2010 (has links)
My thesis research centres on the question, how have refugee policy formation and ground level implementation impacted the conditions and experiences of displaced Burmese in Thailand from 1988 to 2008? I examine the effects of the production of subject categories through Thai national laws and practices, a bilateral agreement, and the United Nations Convention on the Status of Refugees, in order to uncover how official policies are used to manage refugees. This study addresses questions regarding policy formation and implementation toward Burmese who have fled political oppression in Burma (Myanmar) and identifies issues related to the recognition of difference and the allocation of rights in the cultural contexts of migration and integration of minority populations. The formulation and implementation of refugee policies has global implications since policy solutions in general are developed from a perspective that ignores the emergence and significance of displacement.

The theoretical part is focused on the definition of migration and integration of migrants, both at the international, national and regional context. A special chapter is devoted to the theory of civic participation of migrants. The concept of civic participation is perceived in relation to the non- governmental organizations. Qualitative research is conducted through the structured interviews with representatives of these organizations, which are analyzed by the method of open and selective coding. The research results are presented in the analytical findings with a view to identifying barriers to civic participation of Russian minorities in the Czech Republic as well as the subsequent recommendations to overcome them. Vietnamská kuchyně jako nástroj integrace vietnamské menšiny do české společnosti

MARKOVÁ, Romana January 2018 (has links)
The thesis describes the role of Vietnamese cuisine in the process of integration of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts-theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the concept of integration as such, its definition and classification. The first half of the work focuses on the integration policy of the Government of the Czech Republic and introduces readers to the notions of culture, cultural sensitivity, intercultural encounters and contact. In the theoretical part, there are also described centers for supporting integration and non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic engaged in the support of integration and what is the role the food in this process and to what extent these organizations focus on the role of food. There is also a presentation of Vietnamese cuisine in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the theoretical part of the thesis focuses specifically on the concept of food, Vietnamese cuisine and a brief introduction of typical Vietnamese dishes. Last but not least, the diploma thesis reflects important knowledge about food as an instrument of integration, which serves as the basis for the following practical part. The practical part is devoted to the research itself, the main task of which was to find out, in a semi-structured interview, what role food plays in the process of integration, to what extent the addressed organizations consciously use food in their practice as one way of integration and how they reflect its effectiveness in the integration process. It reveals how Vietnamese cuisine is perceived in the Czech Republic and how the Vietnamese minority adopts Czech eating habits. It also summarizes the benefits of introducing culture through food, and the possible disadvantages of this, or the extent to which it is possible to learn about foreign cultures through food.

Otázka integrace turecké menšiny v Německu za vlády černo-žluté koalice v letech 2009-2011 / The question of Turkish minority integration in Germany during the government period of the Black-Yellow coalition 2009-2011

Horálková, Tereza January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis "The Question of Turkish Minority Integration in Germany During the Governing Period of the Black-Yellow Coalition 2009-2011" focuses on a widely discussed debate about the model of integration of the new coalition government CDU/CSU and FDP. The main purpose of the paper is to collect, analyse and interpret information about a current issue in Germany: social and cultural integration of the Turkish minority into the German mainstream culture. The topic is narrowed only to the first two years of the coalition project and focuses mainly on the events shortly before the final agreement and ends with the last occurrences in 2011. The main goal is to answer the main research question how the integration model of the current coalition changed and if there is a new strategy or continuity with the previous governments. The bodies which influence the long-term integration of this group are twofold: on one side are the German ministries and state institutions, on the other are Turkish representatives including those non-governmental organization that have their field of action within Germany. Apart from analysing the primary and secondary sources, expert interviews with relevant representatives of the institutions and distinct researchers will also be presented.
