Monitoring and loggingsystem for home use. : An 8-bit approach.

Peredera, Dmitri January 2011 (has links)
The thesis discusses the creation and implementation of a monitoring and notificationsystem for home use. The topic may have interest during the warm Swedish summer andlong winter nights, when the weather conditions put home flora to the test. The vividimagination together with a life-long experience of the author predicts a total devastation ofgreen plants inside the apartment. A more general approach will allow tracking e.g. of livinghabits and notification of important events like mail arrival. The paper discusses a power management of devices, wireless and wired communicationand data storage on embedded 8-bit microcontroller manufactured by Microchip. A simpleanalysis of price, performance and memory requirements is done. The practicalimplementation of the prototype suffered somewhat from lack of lab space and otherlimitations of the home environment, where the device was assembled. The achieved results suggest the possibility of such realization. However, the realization hasincluded major changes compared to the originally envisioned device, in order to keepwithin the limits brought on by the home environment. The prototype has some design flaws and is a subject to further revision. Nevertheless, thebasic idea and solution have proved to be feasible: A modern 8-bit MCU has the capacity torun the intended kind of monitoring and logging system. However the performance is slightlyless than hoped for and the experienced memory limitations may suggest a migration to a16-bit architecture.

Ovladač a hardwarový modul protokolu MiWi pro Linux / Driver and Hardware Module of MiWi Protocol for Linux

Hala, Martin January 2014 (has links)
The master's thesis is about a communication element - a hardware module, its design and implementation. The communication is to be maintained between a Linux embedded device and the sensors elements, using the MiWi protocol. The task is part of the IoT project, developed at FIT BUT. Furthermore, the paper describes design of a driver for the module, its likely solution, as well as the very implementation. Finally, the obtained experience is discussed in a summary, along the next step options on how to proceed further with the driver development.

Bezdrátové řízení osvětlení / Wireless lighting control

Pilmajer, Pavel January 2018 (has links)
Thesis deals with the issue of lighting technology control using wireless technology. Thesis includes a description of current possibilities of control light technology, methods of digital signal transmission using radio waves and protocols dealing with this issue are described. This thesis also contains a park aimed at the selection of suitable electronic components including the design of individual electronic blocks and printed circuit board. The conclusion of the thesis is the realization of electronic modules, including the creation of module software and measurement of achieved parameters under real conditions.

Wireless IO : A wireless accessory for integration of an Axis Communications camera in a sensor network.

Eriksson, Hannes, Brange Sollie, Ivan January 2017 (has links)
When installing new network security cameras in buildings, the cameras are often connected to sensors via signal wires. Since most building already have internet and electricity drawn throughout the structure, the procedure of routing a new signal wire can be costly and time demanding. By replacing this wire with a wireless link, the cost and time it takes for the customer to install a camera could be reduced. The objective for this thesis is to investigate different wireless technologies used in short range, low power wireless communication networks such as PANs and LANs. Focusing on technologies used in the surveillance segment a decision will be made on which wireless technology that would suit as a link between a sensor and a camera for transmitting trigger signals. The technology will then be implemented in a proof-of-concept accessory, which can give an Axis Communications camera wireless functionality through it’s IO port.

Inteligentní řízení domácnosti / Smart Home Control

Fučík, Jan January 2014 (has links)
This thesis summarizes the subject of intelligent homes and describes commonly used standards and commercial solutions on the market. The thesis covers the design of a low-cost and easy to use smart home system which can be managed over the internet, uses a genetic algorithm for heating regulation optimization and its central computing unit is a low-cost, embedded device with low power consumption. The functionality of the system is verified on a practical application of heating regulation in a house. The efficacy of the system for energy savings is shown; it is based on measured data statistics.
