Školní z(ne)hodnocení / (D)Evaluation at School

Poljaková, Tereza January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis (D)evaluation at School deals with the phenomenon of evaluation in the school environment in a broader sense. It focuses in particular on the psychosocial context of evaluation processes. It is a qualitative study focusing on diffrent forms of assessment by teaching staff and their influence on the behaviour of pupils. The study is based on data collected at several school institutions and is mainly based on hundreds of hours of observation and dozens of interviews. Most of the evaluation methods described in the thesis are part of the so- called hidden curriculum of the school and are often not reflected by the teaching staff. These are in particular different types of assessments from position of power, which can negatively affect the class climate and also have a potentially destructive effect on the development of pupils' personality. The thesis is devoted, of course, to more appropriate, respectful methods of evaluation. But it also points to the fact that even such assessments are no guarantee that pupils' behaviour will be disciplined and cooperative. The thesis discusses various modes of pupil responses to power and respectful evaluations by teaching staff, depending on the type of tune-up class as a social group. The main aim of the thesis is to highlight the gap between theory...

Modelování tlakových pulsací v potrubí / Modelling of pressure pulsations in pipes

Hofírek, Michal January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with problem of water hammer in pipes affected by viscoelastic behavior of pipe material. Mathematical model uses pressure dependent speed of sound in water air mixture. For purpose of numerical solution the Method of Characteristics with independent time step is introduced. This method is compared with commonly used methods such as Method of Characteristics (MOC) and Lax Wendroff scheme. Derived model, solved with Method of Characteristics with independent time step, is verified with experimental simulation.

Strategie harmonizace pracovního a rodinného života vysokoškolsky vzdělaných žen v počátcích jejich kariéry. / A strategy for harmonization of professional and family life of women with university degree at the beginning of their professional career.

Dvořáček, Pavel January 2016 (has links)
This thesis focuses on harmonisation of work and family life of female university graduates at beginning of their careers and at the time when they were taking care of babies up to five years of age. I have chosen this topic not only because it is rather an actual topic but also because I'm personally attached to it. My feminist research analysis is based on the theory of power and knowledge as is it described by Foucault and Butler. I was interested in original families of my communication partners where they grew up and where they adopted their social habits and behaviour. In the light of this social process, I have analysed what powers they had to face in their original families in terms of usage of gender stereotypes based on patriarchal layout of our society and preferential existence of one gender over the other. I have also focused on current families of my communication partners and on power relationships on the basis of which the process of harmonisation of professional and family life of my communication partners takes place, both in their private and public space. I have also analysed how social habits and behaviour gained during their childhood are implemented. It was very important for the interviews and for my feminist research to approach my communication partners as subjects, and...

Bautzen a Budyšin: Jazykové ideologie v hlavním městě Lužických Srbů / Bautzen and Budyšin: Language Ideologies in the Capital City of Sorbs

Škrob, Jan January 2015 (has links)
In this thesis, I attempt to describe and analyse language ideologies relevant in the specific situation of the Sorbian minority in the city of Bautzen (Sorbian: Budyšin) - a city with a clear German majority at the same time considered a cultural, social and political centre of Sorbs - with a special emphasis on links between language and nationalism. Focusing on these links, I also examine the specific role of language for maintainance of Sorbian national identity. I also view Sorbian language ideologies in the broader context of social and political relations in and around Bautzen, whereas I, among other topics, inquire into recently significant hatred of local German radical right towards the Sorbian minority. At the same time, I attempt to capture the power relations between German and Sorbian languages. Apart from the paradigm of language ideologies, I am also informed by works of certain poststructuralist authors, especially due to their emphasis on constructivism regarding identities and language mechanisms. Keywords: language, language ideologies, nationalism, language nationalism, identities, national identity, ethnicity, language and power, Sorbian, German, language and politics, language contact

Tematizace problému dohledu a moci v kinematografii / The thematization of the issue of surveillance and power in cinematography

Šára, Filip January 2015 (has links)
The goal of this thesis The thematization of the issue of surveillance and power in cinematography is to introduce Michael Focault's theory of power, and add to it with other theories of surveillance with regard to the electronic age (Surveillance studies). Subsequently these theories and hypothesis are applied to qualitative analysis of chosen films with the theme of surveillance. Findings should show the cinematographic reflection of the issue of surveillance and power, de facto depiction of theory and practice of surveillance studies (emphasising the use of power in institutions like prison, hospital, school or working environment, which are heterotopic "other spaces") in live-action movies. The thesis shows development within the past 30 years which took place also due to the existence of internet, which is a kind of institution too. Hypothesis: it is obvious in films with surveillance theme that the concept of the use of power is evolving from "body as a machine" (M. Foucault) to "disappearing bodies" (D. Lyon). The choice of films is analysed only with regard to their depiction of surveillance, is mainly based on the list of movies with surveillance theme constructed by a German theorist D. Kammerer. The goal is also to broaden this list with examples of other films since it should emphasise...

Jílková, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
A subject of this diploma paper is to follow practise of putting children into alternative family care. The key method of finding answers is analysis of interviews with social workers and a worker of socially legal protection of children, and content analysis of texts and documents connected with the issue of alternative family care. The paper examines the role of social workers in the process of putting applicants into register for any form of alternative family care and workers' influence in forming such a process. The aim is to focus on social workers' activity analysis and to discover in which moments and in which ways ideological and normative settings of social workers might affect practice of putting children into alternative family care. One of the points of activity analysis is description of social workers' fulfilment of a concept - the best interest of a child and family. The paper is looking for the answer to what extent and in which moments normative ideas of family and topics family related might affect putting or not putting a child into a particular applicant's care.

Strukturální moc Evropské Unie v Maghrebu / The European Union's Structural Power in the Maghreb: The Causes of Failure

Hrubý, Jiří January 2018 (has links)
Primary assumption of this thesis is that the European Union (EU) represents a unique international actor that embodies the major changes in institution of diplomacy. These changes culminate in the 21st Century. They rest namely in widening of diplomatic agenda, increasing number and kind of actors conducting diplomacy, growing importance of multilateral frameworks and transformation of diplomatic actors' objectives. At the centre of our interest lays the concept of structural foreign policy (SFP) that constitutes an analytical framework of this thesis. SFP is an instrument through which the EU exercises its structural power towards third countries. The aim of this thesis is to provide an analysis and critique of the EU's SFP towards Maghreb. The region has been chosen as the subject of our analysis since despite a long term and continuous effort since 1990s the EU has largely failed to effectively exercise its structural power in the region.

Kacetl, Michael January 2018 (has links)
The thesis deals primarily with the description, analysis and framing of public policy issues with regard to handicapped athletes. Using the social construction method of the target groups creates a picture of the group of...

SHAGIVALEEVA, Akime. EU Soft Power in the Eastern Partnership countries: the Case of Ukraine. 89 p. Mater thesis. Charles University, Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of International Studies. Supervisor prof. Mgr. Eliška Tomalová, Ph.D. Abstract The thesis studies the EU as a soft power actor, seeking to analyse the way it is favouring soft power tools in its foreign policy, establishing the relations with the neighbouring countries and guaranteeing security across its borders. The topic is relevant for the EU security, prosperity and its role as a global political actor. The thesis makes a contribution to the debate, providing with the characterization of the theoretical concept of 'soft' and 'hard' power, description of the use of soft power by the EU, its sources and limits and the argumentation for the effectiveness and relevance of 'soft power' approach having studied how soft power sources are being applied. The thesis represents a qualitative research structured to investigate primarily the theoretical framework and further apply it onto the policy on regional level (Eastern Partnership states) and then more...
