Modely chování úrokových sazeb / Interest Rate Models

Nikolaev, Alexander January 2013 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with short-term interest rate models. Many interest models have been developed in the last decades. They focus on accuracy of prediction. The pioneering one was developed by Vasicek in 1977 followed by the work of others. Nowadays these vary in their level of comprehensiveness and technical difficulty. The main aim of the thesis is to introduce not only a basic Vasicek's work but also more sophisticated models such as Brennan-Schwartz or Longstaff-Schwartz.

Vhodnost modelování skutečného modelu půdy náhradním jednovrstvým nebo dvouvrstvým horizontálním modelem půdy / Appropriateness of modelling the actual soil model as a uniform or horizontal two-layer soil model

Kuběna, Michael January 2019 (has links)
The present thesis deals with soil resistivity and especially the suitability of replacing various soil models with a two-layer horizontal model. First, the factors that influence soil resistivity as well as the methodology of its measuring are described, and various soil models are introduced. Then, the Ansys program was used to create several soil models: a vertical model with perpendicular or oblique division, a model with a pronounced inhomogeneity and a three-layer model. In all of these models, a Wenner measurement simulation was performed, followed by a two-layer horizontal replacement model. Then the size of the error that was created by replacing the actual model with a two-layer horizontal model was examined.

Fundamentální analýza akcií / Stock Fundamental Analysis

Holek, Michal January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to perform a fundamental stock analysis of the joint - stock company ČEZ. The theoretical part consists of general definitions of individual methods and procedures of fundamental stock analysis, which makes a theoretical background for creating the experimental part. The experimental part consists of global, sectoral and firm analysis. The output of the fundamental stock analysis is establishing an intrinsic value of the stock and consequent investment recommendation.

Vázané modelování asynchronního motoru metodou fyzikálního modelování / Constrained modeling of induction motor using physical modeling

Toman, Marek January 2015 (has links)
This paper deals with interaction of different physical phenomena in asynchronous motor. The first part of this work is devoted to computing of electrical ratios in asynchronous motor. By using the equivalent circuit in the shape of Gamma-circuit the equation for computing of currents, performances and losses of asynchronous motor are derived. The second part describes calculating of electromagnetic circuit and iron-core losses. In the next part there is the first part of associated model created which respects electric and electromagnetic ratios in the asynchronous motor. This model can be used for example to pursuance of variation of flux density caused by resizing load. In this model the unconventional way of computing the magnetizating inductance and resistance coresponding to iron-core losses is used. The next part deals with calculation of machine warming using the thermal network. In the last part there is a complete coupled model assembed which respects the interaction of electrical, electromagnetical and thermal ratios of induction machine.

Reprezentace mezní vrstvy atmosféry modelem WRF ve vysokém rozlišení / Atmospheric boundary layer representation in the high-resolution WRF model

Peštová, Zuzana January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of the results of simulations of the numerical model WRF in the prediction mode for 9 schemes of boundary layer parameterization and in the climatic mode for 4 selected schemes. The first part of the work is devoted to the WRF model and especially its options for model physics with a focus on boundary layer schemes. The second part describes the experimental setup of the performed simulations. The third part then compares the obtained results for the prediction and climate mode with the measured data.

Semiparametrický model aditivního rizika / Semiparametric additive risk model

Zavřelová, Adéla January 2020 (has links)
Cox proportional hazard model is often used to estimate the effect of covariates on hazard for censored event times. In this thesis we study the semiparametric models of additive risk for censored data. In this model the hazard is given as a sum of unknown baseline hazard function and a product of covariates and coefficients. Further the general additive-multiplicative model is assumed. In this model the effect of a covariate can be either multiplicative, additive or both at the same time. We focuse on determining the effect of a covariate in the general model. This model can be used to test for the multiplicative or addtive effect of a covariate on the hazard.

Who are the good samaritans? : an analysis of volunteers and volunteerism in South Africa / Ferdinand Niyimbanira

Niyimbanira, Ferdinand January 2014 (has links)
Economic theories usually assume that the amount of work offered by individuals increase as wages and salaries increase. However, there are volunteers who present their work without payment for the production of goods and services, for the benefit of others. Volunteer work is of significance in a time when social safety nets are weak and there are ever increasing demands on welfare organisations. Volunteers can make a difference in their communities and entire society in general which means that if they are understood better, it may be possible to harness their power for the greater good. Therefore, this thesis analyses volunteers and volunteerism in South Africa and the factors that determine their efforts. The manuscript presents a critical discussion of economic theories of volunteering, major concepts and types of volunteers to arrive at a plausible set of models explaining volunteerism and the general motives of volunteers. The descriptive analysis of data sets from the Labour Force Survey was conducted. The data also allows for the estimation of a limited dependent variable regression model of the probability of volunteering as a function of individual-specific predictors. The results from Logit (Binary LogitRegression) regression showed that all estimated coefficients have the expected signs: Females are more likely to do volunteer work more than males; older people are more likely to participate more in volunteer activities than middle age and younger ones. The results also reveal that the higher your level of education, the more likely you will be to do volunteer work. This was the same with income: higher income individuals are more likely to do volunteer work. This study also used data from the Volunteer Activities Survey (VAS) to describe volunteers and estimate a model of the determinants of hours of volunteer work supplied. The results indicate a robust relationships between volunteered and determinant such as gender, age group; population group, level of education, income category, marital status and employment status, to mention few. Results from the regression model show that age is positively related to hours spend doing volunteer work. Even though the gender variable is found to be not statistically significant, the results indicated that women do volunteer work more than men. The further a person is educated the more he/she will participate in voluntary work. The evidence indicated that there is a positive relationship between income and hours of volunteering. The evidence provides a number of findings that are important to policymakers, non-profit organisations and all other stakeholders in volunteerism. This study could be used to devise more efficient and effective plans of how the number of volunteers and the hours that they volunteer could be retained and increased. / PhD (Economics), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2014
