ZACH, Ondřej January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis was focused on comparison of movement activity of dairy cows of Czech Fleckvieh Breed and Holstein Breed. Three herds of Czech Fleckvieh Breed and three herds of Holstein Breed were chosen on six farms. An observation of movement activity of dairy cows took place using pedometers during one year. Gained data was processed afterwards and then the comparison of breed influence on their movement activity was made. Possible effect of season on movement activity and effect of movement activity on efficiency was taken into account. The observation did not prove any difference of moving activity between observed breeds.

Foraging ecology of Naja nivea and Dispholidus typus

Greuel, Janine January 2019 (has links)
Magister Scientiae (Biodiversity and Conservation Biology) - MSc (Biodiv and Cons Biol) / It is widely reported that snakes can be major predators of avian nests, but the use of a single avian prey type by competing species has rarely been examined. This study aimed to investigate predation of a single food resource by the sympatric snakes Naja nivea and Dispholidus typus. Specifically, I aimed to 1) identify factors influencing snake presence in sociable weaver colonies and 2) quantify snake predation and potential differences in the consumption of prey by the two competing snakes. I used repeated visual surveys of sociable weavers to obtain presence-absence data of cape cobra and boomslang in sociable weaver colonies over an entire breeding season. I related the presence-absence data of the two snake species to spatially- and temporally-variable factors using principal component analyses (PCA) and multiple logistic regression analyses. The presence of snakes in sociable weaver colonies is primarily influenced by temporal factors, but spatial factors also play a role.

Method: The results will be acquired by the methods of qualitative and quantitative research. Non- standardized questionnaire, standardized Iowa-Brace test and non-standardized test of movement creativity will be used. The results will be worked out by Microsoft Excel computer program. Results: The found out results proved that the responders who go in for gymnastic sports achieved the best assessments in the tested group. Heidenreichová, Ivana January 2012 (has links)
6 Abstract Title: Comparison of Movement Activity and Sport between Patients after Resurfacing and Total Hip Replacement Surgery Objectives: To summarize the available information about after-surgery regime and self- sufficiency after total hip replacement. To accent the differences between resurfacing and total hip replacement. To obtain the information about sport behavior and movement activity of patients after resurfacing and total hip surgery using questionnaire survey. To find out if they are able to return back to sport sctivity and how much do the total hip replacement limits them, to find out how the pain influences their movement activity. To compare the movement activity of patients after resurfacing with patients after total hip surgery. Methods: Thesis is worked out using quality assessment of information obtained by empiric way - using questionnaire survey. Results are processed using MS Excel into charts and graphs. Results: The objective of clear justification of advantages of hip resurfacing as a surgery method providing early return to movement activity has not been met. Sledování etologických projevů dojnic v závislosti na technologii ustájení za účelem vývoje čidel vyhodnocujících různé pohyby zvířat / Monitoring of etological expression of dairy cows in dependence on technology of stabling for role of evolution of detectors which evaluate various movements of animals

KINDLOVÁ, Jana January 2015 (has links)
Breeding of cattle is one of the most important industry of animal production in the Czech republic. These animals are used mainly for production of meat and milk. The aim of this diploma thesis was to gather basic datas about etological expressions of breeding dairy cows in the relationship to the used technologies of milking by using detectors of automatical scanning of movements and to formulate conclusions coming from these surveys. I monitored in three agricultural companies etological expressions of chosen dairy cows to the focus on their movement activities connected to the different technologies of milking. Etological monitoring helped to specify the scanning system of movements, which was installed in the companies. There were chosen total of 18 dairy cows of Holstein Friesian dairy cows, reproduction condition was various. The cows were in all phases of gravidity, some were just after birth. The observation was going on constantly for 24 hours, in various temperature conditions and different milking technique. The results were compared with literature and the aim was to find, by which system of milking are the animals happiest and how the welfare is accomplished.

Another fact was control detection of current diet and movement regime of examined persons. The research survey was conducted anonymously, nowhere does not appear the names of participating persons. Results of the thesis: Our first task was to confirm that all probands achieve due to modified diet on the basis of model diet regime and participation on physical activities a reduction in body weight. Then it was followed by another task, which we should confirm that the proposed regime's treatment causes weight loss of 4 kg or more. The first question on the basis of the results was confirmed in part only because the weight reduction achieved 5 out of 7 probands. Similarly, the second task...
