Dynamika a rozšíření recentních svahových pohybů na úpatí Krušných hor / Dynamics and spatial extension of recent landslides at the foot of Krušné Hory Mts.

Burda, Jan January 2012 (has links)
Dynamika a rozšíření recentních svahových pohybů na úpatí Krušných hor | Abstrackt 1 ABSTRACT Recent mass movements currently comprise one of the main morphogenetic processes in the extensive anthropogenic relief of the foreground of the Krušné Hory Mountains in the Czech Republic. These mass movements result in several types of deep- seated slope failures, depending on the type of movement, lithological, structural, and geotechnical conditions and the water saturation of the landslide material. This thesis presents broad set of various methods of geomorphology, geophysics, engineering geology, dendrogeomorphology and geodesy in an attempt to fully understand the problem of slope failures in the Jezeří area located at the boundary between the Krušné Hory Mountains and the Most Basin (Czech Republic). An interdisciplinary approach has enabled an in-depth review of both the dynamics and development of recent slope failures as well as morphology and structure of slope failures. There are two sectors - Southeast and Southwest - with different types of slope failures. In the Southwest sector, mass movements occur in thick colluvial mantle and weathered Tertiary claystones. The main factors influencing their development include rainfall culminations, groundwater flowing from the valley of Šramnický Brook and...

Ecology of Rumex alpinus - retrospective studies using annual growth markers on rhizomes / Ecology of Rumex alpinus - retrospective studies using annual growth markers on rhizomes

ŠŤASTNÁ, Petra January 2011 (has links)
I studied the species Rumex alpinus by reviewing the literature on the taxonomy, morphology, population biology, genetics, chemistry, physiology and ecology. Herbochronological studies on growth parameters of rhizomes were done on the Rumex alpinus plants in relation to altitude and to the climtic fluctulations, specifically to the snow accumulation.

Společenstva mnohonožek a stonožek přirozeně se vyvíjejících a asanovaných horských smrčin Šumavy. / Communities of millipedes and centipedes in the naturally disturbed and rehabilitated mountain spruce forests of the Šumava Mts.

VELÍŠEK, Lukáš January 2014 (has links)
The aim of the study was to describe and compare the communities of soil invertebrates esp. millipedes and centipedes at selected localities in the Březník area, the Šumava National Park. The work pursues the two approaches to the management of the mountain spruce forests which were affected by bark beetle and where their remediation has been applied or they have been left to the spontaneous development. Non-intervention management has a positive impact on the populations of millipedes and centipedes comparing to the assemblages of other soil invertebrates. In the case two types of management, they are no significant differences in the composition of soil macrofauna in both studied variants.

Observing and Attending in a Delayed Matching-to-Sample Preparation in Pigeons

Lovelace, Bryan S. 12 1900 (has links)
Pigeons worked in a titrating delay match-to-sample (TDMTS) procedure in which selecting the correct comparison stimulus increased the delay between sample offset and comparison-array onset and incorrect comparison selections decreased that delay. Prior research in our lab has shown that the stable adjusted value of the retention interval is a curvilinear function of the observing response requirement. The current study examined the effect of the distribution and predictability of observing response requirements on adjusted retention interval values. The data show that unpredictable observing response requirements were more effective in attenuating the deleterious effects of delay on matching accuracy. The data have implications for our understanding of attending and encoding in performances involving remembering over short temporal durations.

Historická dynamika horní hranice lesa ve východních Krkonoších / Past dynamic of alpine treeline ecotone in the eastern part of the Krkonoše Mts.

Jungrová, Alena January 2011 (has links)
4 Abstract The purpose of the diploma thesis is the analysis of changes in the alpine treeline ecotone with focus on the age structure and cover of the Norway spruce (Picea Abies) in the Giant Mountains in the 20th century. The altitudinal position and the tree density of the alpine treeline ecotone is a sensitive indicator which reflects the human impact as well as the climatic and air pollution changes. Methodical approach included the measuring of the age structure of the Norway spruce by using dendrochronology. In addition the changes of the spruce cover were evaluated from a series of aerial photographs dated 1936, (1953) 1964, 1985 and 2002. Those photographs were orthorectified and classified. The age distribution in the majority of the sample locations is irregular with some prominent peaks that are corresponding to the periods of good conditions and dips pointing out to the periods of disturbances. There is an evident peak during the 30s and 40s which is the same period of the increase of average temperatures of the growing season. On the contrary, depression during the 70s and 80s is detected only in the case of closed-canopy forest. The increasing number of trees during the 90s is related to the decreasing air pollution and to the higher average temperature. Relatively young age structure of the...

Equivalência de estímulos e transferência de função: avaliando os efeitos dos controles por seleção e por rejeição / Stimulus equivalence and transfer of function: Evaluating the effects of select and reject controls

Perez, William Ferreira 03 December 2012 (has links)
In a two-choice matching-to-sample task, the participant might learn either to select the correct stimulus (select control) or to reject the incorrect one (reject control). The present dissertation investigated the effects of select and reject controls upon equivalence-class formation and transfer of discriminative function. Chapter 1 presents a methodological review that analyzed procedures used to infer the occurrence of such controls and also procedures used to experimentally manipulate them. Chapter 2 presents an experiment that evaluated the effects of manipulating observing responses towards comparison stimuli upon the establishment of select or reject controls. Adults participated and were exposed to a conditional discrimination training in a matching-tosample task with observing requirements (MTS-OR). Results suggest that select control was more likely to occur for participants that were required to observe the S+ in every training trial; reject control occurred only for participants that were required to observe the S- in every training trial. In this last case, preventing participants from observing the S+ also increased the chances of control by the S-. Finally, Chapter 3 presents experiments that evaluated the effects of select or reject controls upon equivalence-class-formation tests and transfer of discriminative function. The MTS-OR procedure, allied with different proportions of S+/S-, allowed manipulating the controls that were investigated. The transfer of function was evaluated by means of a simple successive discrimination task involving key-pressing responses on the keyboard. The results suggest that the reflexivity tests, and also the one-node transitivity and equivalence tests, were differentially affected by such controls. Transfer of function test results suggest the formation of different classes depending on the control that was established, select or reject

The methodology efficiency was evaluated by a simulation study using three prior, which were related to different Generalized Beta distributions: symmetric, asymmetric and flat prior. We applied the proposed methodology to microarray time series real data of HeLa cells. The forecast of gene expression in one future time showed high efficiency.
