<p>Syftet med undersökningen var att beskriva utifrån förskollärarnas åsikter och tankar om hur de använder sig av musik i förskolan och till vilket syfte det används. Undersökningen bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer som vi gjort med åtta förskollärare på åtta förskolor. Utifrån resultatet som uppkom fann vi likheter och skillnader inom användningen av musik i förskolan. En likhet som upptäcktes var att musiken används och genomsyrar verksamheterna i stort. Dock fann vi skillnader på hur ofta samlingar med musikaktiviteter används, då en del hade det varenda dag och en del varannan vecka. Musiken fann vi som ett element för att bevara traditioner och att den ofta uppstår i samlingar som ibland är planerade, men även spontant som i vardagssituationer. Undersökningen visar även att en del av förskollärarna har ett syfte med musiken i arbetet med barnen, bl.a. hänvisade de till barnens språkutveckling. Men en del ansåg sig inte ha något direkt syfte med musiken i arbetet, de ansåg att det var ett redskap som alla andra.</p>
