This theses deals with the research on the development of attitude of main Serbian political parties to the nationalist question and Serbian nationalist program. Results of this research reveal how in the past quarter century changed the attitude of the Serbian parliamentary parties on the Serbian national question, depending on the key milestones of development (origins and development of multi-party system, the war in the early 90s; escalation of the Kosovo crisis). Among others things theses deals with differences between the declared programs and principles and the real party politics. During the research were also analyzed programming and factual modifications of attitude to the mentioned issues for the following parties: Socialist Party of Serbia, Democratic Party, Serbian Renewal Movement, Serbian Radical Party, Democratic Party of Serbia and the Citizens Union of Serbia. Heuristically work is primarly based on published sources: the relevant programs; resolutions of the party congresses and conferences; speeches of key representatives of the ementioned parties.

The aim of this work is to analyse the progress made by Turkey in human rights area and identify how important role of Islam there is. The work attempts to refute the idea that Muslim society is not possible to create a functioning legal system that takes sufficient account of the protection of human rights. Reforms of 20 and 30 years of the 21st century were used as theoretical basis. For the analysis of advances in the field of legislation was used Turkish Constitution as the basic document, which is the most important from the point of view of the European Union. A key part of this thesis is an analysis of current problems in the field of human rights and criticism of the international community, especially the European Union that Turkey must face. The work attempts to identify how important role is played by Islam in the issue.

Diploma thesis is trying to describe and analyse factors shaping current relations between China and Japan. My intention is to identify main factor, which shape and influence bilateral Sino-japan relations in long term view. I suggest that main factor is historical factor. Thesis explains the change in bilateral relations after Cold war. Also explains national myth-making, nationalism and current problems such as Yasukuni Shrine and text-book controversy. Last part is focused on territorial conflict between China and Japan, namely Senkaku/Diaoyu islands.

Jan MAREŠ, The policy of gender identity in the labour movement within the region of Liberec (1890-1914), dissertation, Institute of Czech History, Charles University, Charles University Prague, 2021. The thesis attempts to address the question of whether and how the configuration of the gender order of the labour movement represented by the German Social Democracy was transformed and how it was formed by class and nationalist politics. Therefore the dissertation focuses on changes of the representations of femininity and masculinity and desirable social relations between two of them. It is situated into the specific spatial context of the city of Liberec/Reichenberg in North Bohemia and its surroundings, with emphasis on the period 1890-1914. The broader context of the development of the workers' Social democratic movement is considered too. The study is mainly based on printed literary sources with special regard to periodicals. Firstly, the thesis examines the broader context of the formation and reception of Marxist thought and its relationship to the national and woman question. The diploma thesis "Martin L. King vs. Malcolm X: Two Competing Visions of the Fight for Civil Rights in the United States of America" deals with two different visions of the fight for civil rights, which reperesented by the two pivotal personalities of Martin L. King and Malcolm X. The thesis investigates wheather racial integration or separation is better and more suitable for blacks, or if it is better to gain rights and respect by nonviolent means or by any means necessary. Emphasis is placed on the evolution of opinions and ideas of both personalities during their lifetimes.

The presented dissertation focuses on the large-scale privatization in Czechoslovakia in the early 1990's, on how it was pushed through and why. It analyses the political conflicts over its eventual form and means of realization, and reconstructs the contemporary expectations concerning the future development. It also pays attention to the roots of the 1990's conflicts in the relevant economic disputes of the previous decades. The dissertation identifies an establishment of a new type of liberal political language as a key moment for the implementation of a large-scale privatization. For the new political language, which can be labelled as "market without adjectives" (or "attributes"), the privatization was a flagship policy and it encompassed its key ideas. The language of market without adjectives was defined in a strong opposition to the principles of the so-called "economic democracy", which had been popular among the members of the Czechoslovak dissent, the numerous supporters of workers' self- governing bodies and some economic experts. My diploma thesis is mainly concentrating on analyses of relationships between English (British) and Irish people from the time when the 'Great Famine' just past until the First World War. It aims to highlight the key events and analyses it is impact on both countries relationship to each other. Since 1801, when Ireland had become a part of Great Britain and the relations between the Brits (English) and Irish narrowed down by joining these countries. The famine in large scale has very negatively affected their relations and since then the Irish tried to gain more and more independence of the authorities in their country, and above all re-establish the Parliament of Ireland. Their actions were supported and represented by resistance organisation 'Home Rule', which Irish nationalists were tightening to with hope. Since seventies of 19th century Irish parliamentarians was urging demands in order to self- administrate on own parliament soil. The Home Rule Bill, which was also promoted by British Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone, was however two times disapproved by the parliament. Only in 1914, after restriction the right of veto of the House of Lords by Parliament Act 1911, the Irish Home Rule Bill passed. An Abstract The text focuses on the aim of the state politics to gain the position of the first global hegemony after the end of the Cold War. It observes, with the regard to the wide-ranging influence of the USA at that time, and to the important American visions about its character, especially their particular decisions. It tries to describe the way, which the other influential participants of the global politics, the states as well as those of other kind, used to express their reactions to this activity, and their relation to the USA, the strongest contender in the effort to acquire the first global hegemony. The power contest is here mainly introduced by the insight into the course of the conflicts, which they, after the end of the Cold War, faced and influenced. The text concentrates on those political and security challenges with, apart from the policies of the USA, the strong presence of the intervention of the international organizations, above all the UN, the NATO and the EU, or of the occassionally created alliances. The prospects of hegemonial possibilities is presented in the conclusion.

Analytical research of a migrant's presence in a certain location on election outcomes of populist-nationalist parties is a relatively new phenomena in the field of electoral geography. Media and political interest in migration and refugees has risen rapidly in the last few years and offers a broad opportunity for relevant scientific studies. This thesis stems from existing literature, that have studied such relation and focuses on the case of The Freedom and Direct Democracy - Tomio Okamura Party (SPD) and on the possible influence of the share of migrants on SPD's electoral support at two different scale levels (municipalities with authorized municipal offices and individual municipalities) during the 2017 parliamentary elections. Analysing the most important groups of migrants and additionally a formed group of migrants coming from countries with either dominant or significant Muslim native population can be considered as innovative. The main goal is to discover whether the election outcomes of SPD, which stands strongly opposed to migration, differ based on the share of migrants in a certain area, or if migration does not play any role at all. This dissertation focuses on the political verse and journalism by the Scottish Gaelic poet, scholar, publisher, and activist Derick Thomson (Ruaraidh MacThòmais, 1921-2012). The chosen set of themes can be broadly described as "political issues", although Thomson should not be regarded only as a political poet in the narrow sense of a propagandist, nor does his political poetry deal with elections and campaigns. The political aspect of his poetry is much broader, including concerns with language and power. Politics also represent the connection between Thomson's multiple activities, and therefore a suitable framework in which to explore them. So far, the prevailing paradigm for studying Thomson's works has been the poetry of place, a concept deeply rooted in the Gaelic tradition, and both popular and critical attention was paid especially to his Lewis poems and, to a less extend, his writing about Glasgow. This dissertation strives to provide answers to the following questions: Which political issues can be traced in Thomson's poetry? What were his main concerns? How does he handle politics in his verse? Are there poems where a political interpretation might be constructed, but that also allow other ways of reading?
