Život římské periferie v Pasoliniho filmové a narativní tvorbě / Life of Roman peripheria in Pasolini's film and narrative work

Sucharovová, Lucia January 2014 (has links)
In this thesis I chose the topic of the history of modern Italian literature, namely the period of neorealism. Literary production exceeds its framework and passes into another kind of art, into filmmaking. So thesis gains interdisciplinary character. Furthermore, for me, this period significant for its ethical and aesthetic values of the human society. The first part summarizes important books about the life of Pier Paolo Pasolini. In the central part is based on mutual comparison works, novels and films, the opinions of experts works drawn from secondary literature. It is currently the focus of work: analysis of novels and film sequences through which it speaks to us. In the last part of the thesis contents Pasolini's book dedicated to collection of essays bearing his poetic intention to intervene in language, literature and film layers of Italian culture.
Pasolini's scope goes beyond individual disciplines, interconnects arts and beyond "mere" national scope. It opens up new issues in the community in which he later become fateful. The thesis is dedicated to the first half of Pasolini's life that affected him during processing works analyzed below: Ragazzi di vita and Una vita violenta, Accattone and Mamma Roma. The rest of his life is not addressed, it does not impinge subject of interest and...

Historické kořeny minimalistického filmu / Historical roots of the conemporary minimalistic cinema

Böhm, Michal January 2016 (has links)
Mimalism represents a film style which still partially predominates on the contemporary art festivals although it reached its peak during in the beginning of the 21. century. Minimalism is a style which supresses the pallete of formalistic tools, expressive elements and typical narative structures and drama. It also works extensively with time and the depiction of everyday. Minimalistic cinema experience thus stimulates the audience to make their own interpretations of the story and the form altogether. The aim of this work is to analyze those historical cinema tendencies that bear most resemblance to the modern style of minimalism. I consider these films (and styles) to be the most predetermenative to the style of minimalism: Italian neorealism, spiritual work of Ozu and Bresson, experimental structural movies, the cinematic masterpiece Jean Dielman, 23 Commerce Quay, 1080 Brussels from Chantal Akerman and Antonionis movies with their narative structure.

Testování vybraných teoretických přístupů v otázce výstavby americké radarové základny v České republice / Testing selected theoretical approaches concerning the building of a US radar base in the Czech Republic

Holý, Petr January 2012 (has links)
The aim of this work is to test the ability of three selected theoretical approaches to explain the response of the Czech Republic to the American offer to build the ABM radar device on the Czech soil. These theories are: neorealism, utilitarian liberalism and constructivism. Each of these approaches looks at the social reality from a different perspective which allows us to view the issue in its complexity and diversity. Each theory also uses a different set of independent variables to explain the behavior of the Czech government in this case (these variables are: autonomy and influence for neorealism; domestic interests for liberalism and international and domestic norms for constructivism). Thanks to this variety of variables we are enabled to critically evaluate which key factors played the crucial role in the Czech decision-making process in this particular issue and possibly also to point out some assumed regularities which might play an important role in forming of the Czech security policy as such. The main task of the first chapter is to provide some broader historical and political context of the case. Next three chapters are then dedicated to testing of the theories by comparing their deductively phrased hypothesis with the value of dependent variable, which for our work is represented...

Transformace NATO a otázka rozdílných schopností členských států / NATO Transformation and the Capability Gap

Ruml, Ken January 2012 (has links)
The present Master Thesis is a macro-level comparative case study that addresses the problem of most member states' lack of adequate motivation to acquire innovative military capabilities and contribute them to the North Atlantic Alliance. There has been a significant gap between NATO's ambition and its military capability since at least the 1999 Kosovo Crisis. Even today, a couple of years after the adoption of the longawaited new Strategic Concept, which confirmed NATO's role in crisis management beyond its borders, the evaluations of the recent NATO operation in Libya hint to fact that the gap persists. The question is: what factors play the most significant role in shaping state behaviour within NATO and what can be done to stimulate the member states' proactive attitude? The problem is addressed through the prism of Neorealism, which emphasizes structural constraints of state behaviour, and Constructivism, which, for its part, highlights the importance of domestic factors, namely state identity. Based on the results of the fuzzy-set analysis, it is argued that the harmonization of NATO's and EU's capability development initiatives, as well as the eventual military integration of lower-capability NATO member states is most likely to reset the balance between the Alliance's ambition and available...

Neoklasický realismus a mocenská dynamika ve východní Asii: zahraniční politika USA vůči Číně / Neoclassical Realism and the Dynamics of Power in Eastern Asia: U.S. foreign policy toward China

Scharfen, Josef January 2012 (has links)
Diploma thesis "Neoclassical Realism and the Dynamics of Power in Eastern Asia: U.S. Foreign Policy toward China" is testing specific theoretical propositions of neoclassical realism on the evolution of U.S. foreign policy toward China from 1950 until present. This single case study uses congruence method and process-tracing to test the effect of intervening variables on the foreign policy deviation from neorealist proposition. Paper assesses theoretical progressivity of neoclassical realism and on this basis analyzes possible future evolution of Sino-American relations and in similar fashion presents suggestions to effective U.S. foreign policy.

Velmocenská politika: Rusko a USA z hlediska realistických teorií mezinárodních vztahů / Great Power Politics: Russia, the USA and the Realist International Relations Theory Perspective

Bílý, Prokop January 2014 (has links)
The diploma thesis focuses on great power politics at the dawn of the twenty-first century. The studied phenomenon is viewed through the lens of defensive, offensive a neoclassical realist perspective. The key goal of the thesis is to determine, whether contemporary streams of the realist international relations tradition can provide plausible explanation of great powers relations. The research is also embedded in the fourth great debate, which entered the international relations discipline during the course of 80's, and as such it tries to reflect current ontological and epistemological debate. Research results then show that realism is still a valid scientific discourse. On the other hand, neoclassical realism's research agenda, as is shown, takes over other theoretical perspectives features.

Proměny domu (analýza domu v portugalském románu 20. století) / Transformations of the Concept of House (An Analysis of the House in the 20th Century Portuguese Novel)

Válová, Karolina January 2018 (has links)
The dissertation under the title Transformations of the Concept of House (An Analysis of the House in the 20th Century Portuguese Novel) endeavours to map the concept, portrayal and primarily the transformations of the space of a house, which is at the same time interpreted as an archetypical space universal in the 20th century Portuguese novel. Following the introduction and a summary of various literary theory approaches to the analysis of a house, Chapter 2 focuses in particular on a topological analysis and an analysis of the symbolic space. The topos of the house is fundamental for thematology and literary topology. A house, representing either a dwelling place, a temporary refuge or a home, is an essential space in the majority of literary stories; it is a certain static counterpart to a literary character, it forms their background or represents an aim to which they are heading. Its organization may reflect a character's nature or emphasize a significant contradiction between the space and the human being inhabiting it. As the role, function, form and significance of a literary character and of other constitutive elements of a narrative text were transformed in the course of the 20th century, the concept of the space of a house also underwent significant changes. Chapter 3 of the...

Politicko-ekonomické vztahy Španělska a Maroka: vzájemná závislost, nebo bezpečnostní otázka? / The Political and Economic Relations of Spain and Morocco: Interdependence or a Security Question?

Chmaitilliová, Dina January 2009 (has links)
Diploma thesis "The Political and Economic Relations of Spain and Morocco: interdependence or a security question? " deals with the political and economical relations of Spain and Morocco from the end of the 1950's to the present. The relationship between these two countries is based not only on mutual cooperation and support but also on mutual rivalry. The most sensitive area almost throughout the analyzed period is the fishing policy, and the territorial dispute over Western Sahara, Ceuta and Melilla, Sidi Ifni (Leila) and the island Isla de Perejil (arabic Leila). The main hypothesis of the thesis is that the relationship of Spain and Morocco corresponds to the neo-liberal theory and therefore a priority in their mutual relations is the economic objectives and to ensure the prosperity. The relation of these two countries doesn't correspond to the neo-realistic theory and the security objectives don't have high priority. We verified this hypothesis by using the Congruance Method, the comparative method of the study period and by the dependent and independent variables. Dependent variable include the political and economic relations and the independent variables include the economic reform in Morocco, mutual bilateral cooperation, fishing policy, the various Spanish governments' policies towards...
