O objetivo desta dissertaÃÃo foi avaliar como os indivÃduos pobres, residentes na RegiÃo Nordeste, beneficiaram-se do crescimento econÃmico (crescimento prÃ-pobre),. Para esta finalidade, aplicou-se as metodologias propostas por Ravallion e Chen (2002) e Son (2004) aos dados da PNAD entre os anos 1987 a 2004 para os estados nordestinos. Os resultados mostraram que durante a dÃcada de 90, principalmente entre os anos de 1995 e 1999, ocorreu uma grande incidÃncia de crescimento prÃ-pobre. A tÃtulo de contribuiÃÃo inÃdita, foi proposta uma nova metodologia, onde se avaliou a distribuiÃÃo de renda dos estados, formando um ranking desagregado da pobreza na regiÃo. A partir deste ranking, observou-se que os pobres que detÃm a melhor condiÃÃo de renda no Nordeste residem nos estados de Pernambuco e da Bahia. / The objective of this dissertation was to evaluate if the poor resident individuals of the Northeast region had benefited themselves of the economic growth (pro-poor growth ), as well as the remain of the society. For this purpose, it was used, through the data of the PNAD, between years 1987 and 2004, for the northeastern states, the methodologies proposed by Ravallion and Chen (2002) and Son (2004). It was evaluated that during the nineties decade, mainly between the years of 1995 and 1999, occurred a great incidence of pro-poor growth. In the dissertation, a new methodology was proposed, where it was evaluated the distribution of income on the Northeast states, forming a ranking of the places that the poor people withhold more income. From this ranking, the poor people who withhold the best condition of north-eastern income inhabit in Pernambuco and Bahia.
