Optimizing Incident Management : Case of CSC / Optimizing Incident Management : Case of CSC

Boucharlat, Romain January 2012 (has links)
I decided to write this master thesis in relation with my work experience at CSC within the service desk. Working at the service desk is a very complete mission that has to be well understood from analysts in order to reach high performance and thus satisfy users. Because it is the goal of CSC, satisfying customers, I decided to focus on this principle and with the results of my research and work experiences I would like to bring in this thesis some findings and recommendations I came up with in order to optimize the service desk quality and to improve the customer satisfaction. In the first chapter, I will mainly describe the work of an analyst at the service desk, and I will define the incident management process. It will help understanding how a service desk works. The incident management process is monitored by many metrics. Some of these metrics are documented and some of them are not and their impacts are different. We will see on what we should focus our efforts. We will see in the second chapter the impacts of these metrics on performance. Measuring the performance of the service desk is important in order to be aware of what should be improved to reach the highest standard of services provided. We will see in the end of this chapter that the most important performance indicator is the customer satisfaction. From this fact, I will bring some findings from seven months of experience within the service desk in order to improve the quality of the services and the customer satisfactions. I will focus on what can be implemented from the service desk analysts not from the management. I will also focus on the effects of the steps already taken to improve customer satisfaction.

The first part of this thesis describes the ancestors of the Third energy package and their accomplishments or failures together with reasons for creating the next generations of liberalizing legislation. The author describes the liberalization in the form of the legal, functional and accounting unbundling separately for electricity and gas industry at the European level, and then the implementation at the level of the Czech legislation. In the next chapter it is further explained, what were the European legislator's incentives for creating the Third energy package, and what new institutes it stipulates. It is herein described that the European Union came with three different unbundling versions of the transmission system operators (TSO) - Ownership unbundling (OU), Independent system operator (ISO) and the Independent transmission operator (ITO). Simulace provozu nemocničního oddělení / Simulation of the operation of the hospital department

Olejár, Filip January 2011 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the solution to a real situation that occurred at Nemocnice Na Františku in Prague. The problem is solved by using a computer simulation in SIMUL8 simulation program. At the beginning I describe the theoretical foundations that are afterwards used as a basis for the main practical part. The main subject of the work is a simulation of an operation of the hospital outpatient department. The hospital management decided to change the system for handling patients operations. I have created simulation models for particular workday and weekend means of patients serving operations. The created simulation models and their outputs are evaluated in the final part of the thesis and will serve as a basis for making reorganization decisions in the hospital. The provided advice for hospital management fulfills the goal of this thesis.
