Sociální pracovník jako člen týmu zajišťujícího komplexní péči o rodinu s předčasně narozeným dítětem / Social worker as a member of a team handling the comprehensive care of a family with a child born prematurely

ZABILKOVÁ, Hana January 2010 (has links)
The thesis deals with psychosocial aspect of premature birth, to which our society does not still pay the attention they would deserve. The aim of the thesis is to emphasise the need to provide specialized psychosocial care to families with prematurely born children within a neonatology ward and to evaluate the possibilities to apply the role of a social worker to provision of such care. The thesis is conceived as a qualitative research. The techniques of semi-structured interview and data content analysis were applied on data collection. The research sample consisted of 11 specialists of various professions involved in the care about prematurely born children and their families. The work partly continues in the research of 2007 where I dealt with the psychosocial issues of premature births from the point of view of parents of prematurely born children. The research results definitely confirmed that striving for creating a conception of specialist psychology care forming a link between health care staff and parents is necessary. Such care should be based on the following forms of assistance so as it supports family function and child{\crq}s healthy development: provision of crisis intervention, support of early relation between the mother (parents) and the child, support and strengthening parent competences, advisory on care about a prematurely born child or perhaps a handicapped child, social law counselling, mediation of related services, support of sharing experience among parents. A social worker is fully competent to provide such care. As the research shows no unified legislation dealing with his/her activities within a multidisciplinary team of a neonatology ward exists. The Social Service Act defines the conditions for the profession; separate activity would probably be subject to special regulations dealing with the activity of a social worker in hospitals. The work may be useful to all professionals pushing for rendering complex care about families of prematurely born children, i.e. care naturally involving specialist psychological care.

Kvalita ošetřovatelské péče na Ortopedickém oddělení Nemocnice České Budějovice, a.s. / Quality of nursing care at the Orthopedic department of hospital České Budějovice company.

STÝBLOVÁ, Marcela January 2010 (has links)
The Diploma paper explores the quality-related issues of nursing care provided at the Orthopedics Department of the České Budějovice Hospital. The survey used quality indicators to review the quality of nursing care delivered at the different units of the Orthopedics Dept. The nursing care was audited to find out whether the operating theatres were kept properly sanitized. Another audit was carried out to examine the level of expertise found in the nursing staff taking care of patients with epidural catheter. The audit followed the already established standard of "Nursing care provided to patients with epidural catheter". The nurses were tested to reveal their competence in caring for the orthopedic patients. A recommendation issued by the Czech Nursing Association was utilized to arrive at the optimal numbers of nurses at the standard nursing units. The outpatients and inpatients were polled to disclose their degree of satisfaction. The nurses were given a questionnaire to measure the extent to which they were happy about their working conditions. The survey has accomplished all its objectives and all the hypotheses have been confirmed as true. The Orthopedics Dept. of the České Budějovice Hospital provides a quality nursing care. Monitoring the quality of nursing care is important mainly for achieving better standards. The nursing staff can be made aware of them through the evaluation of treatment and nursing care effectivity.

Management následné péče u pacientů se srdeční arytmií po propuštění z kardiologického oddělení / The after-care management of patients with cardiac arrhythmia after a discharge out of the cardiac care unit.

JANÁSOVÁ, Věra January 2010 (has links)
Heart rhythm disorders alias arrhythmias rank among the most frequent heart diseases. They result from a disorder of generation or conduction of electric impulses at the heart. There are often arrhythmias of which one is not conscious and which may be detected in long-term ECG monitoring. Patients{\crq} problems mostly arise from rhythm disorders that are paroxysmal or permanent. These may endanger the patient{\crq}s life. Subjective troubles reported by patients include uncomfortable heart palpitation, fatigue, breathlessness, distress, shorter breath, dizziness or even unconsciousness; sometimes patients may feel unpleasant chest pain. These subjective feelings are very uncomfortable for a person suffering from heart arrhythmia and can make it impossible for him/her to manage routine daily activities. The task of a nurse is to help a patient overcome this difficult period and instruct him/her of a healthy lifestyle as a prevention of heart diseases. In this respect, cooperation between the nurses in hospitals and the nurses in cardiologic out-patient departments is important. Four hypotheses were raised. The first hypothesis was to confirm that the care of patients with heart arrhythmia after their discharge to home-care is sufficient in respect of their needs. This hypothesis was confirmed. The second hypothesis was to confirm that the patients are sufficiently instructed on prevention of recurrence of heart arrhythmias. This hypothesis was not confirmed. The third hypothesis was to confirm that patients know the impacts of heart arrhythmias on their overall health state, and was not confirmed. The fourth hypothesis was to confirm that patients are aware of other options of the care after discharge from hospital. This hypothesis was not confirmed. In the practical part of the thesis I used a quantitative research. The research was conducted in hospitals in České Budějovice, Jihlava, Plzeň and Prague, in the form of anonymous questionnaires distributed to patients in cardiologic out-patient departments. The results have been processed in charts and tables in the SPSS programme. The objectives were fulfilled. The appendix to the thesis contains a brief proposal suggesting on what the nursing care should be focused after a patient{\crq}s discharge from hospital. The results will be offered to deputy managers for the nursing care and to nurses in cardiologic out-patient departments.
