JANOŠŤÁKOVÁ, Iveta January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis concentrates on a Canadian artist, Emily Carr, namely on her life, times and work. It explores the reasons why her work had originally been rejected and accepted at the end of her life. The first part of this thesis deals with the time and province where she lived, British Columbia, and also with the Aboriginal culture and art in Canada. It describes the public attitude and awareness of the Aboriginal topic. The second part deals with Carr's life (studies and sketching trips), her financial struggles, the refusal of her community to accept her as an artist, and her other activities such as pottery, breeding dogs, etc. It elaborates on the importance of her writings and the topics covered in her books. It also deals with her recognition and importance as an artist at the present time.

Planární fraktální filtr na substrátu s porušenou zemí / Planar fractal filter on defected ground substrate

Kufa, Martin January 2012 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on the design of planar filters combining fractal layouts and defected ground substrates. The diploma thesis can be divided into three main parts. First, basic knowledge about fractals is presented (creation of Minkowski Island and Koch loop, e.g.). Then, the principle of defected ground structure is described, and a combination of fractal motives with a defected ground structure is briefly introduced. Properties of investigated structures are verified by CST Microwave Studio and Ansoft HFSS. Second, different defected ground structures under the 50 transmission line are designed, and conventional equivalent filters are created. Filters are simulated and compared. In final, the investigated filters are recalculated for the substrate Arlon 25N, simulated, manufactured, measured and confronted with a conventional filter on the defected ground substrate.

Produkce sekundárních metabolitů u aktinomycet působících a potlačujících obecnou strupovitost brambor / Secondary metabolite production in actinomycetes causing and suppressing common scab of potatoes

Komžák, Ondřej January 2012 (has links)
This diploma thesis focused on screening for bacterial pathogens and antagonists suppressing common scab mainly caused by Streptomyces scabiei. Common scab affects some agricultural crops causing significant economical losses. Bacterial strains, mostly streptomycetes, were isolated from potato rhizosphere because they belong to most important producents of secondary metabolites and the causative agents of the disease are also members of this genus. The isolated bacteria were characterised by PCR amplification and sequencing of 16S rRNA gene to reveal their phylogenetic relationships. The ability of isolated strains to suppress growth of Streptomyces scabiei was tested by a simple co-cultivation experiment. The strains were tested by PCR for presence of specific genes for biosynthesis of thaxtomin A, a common virulence factor found in all described pathogens causing symptoms of this disease on the surface of affected tubers. Genes for synthesis of thaxtomin belong to pathogenicity island. Standard of phytotoxin thaxtomin A was used to optimize its analysis by mass spectroscopy for further in vivo and in vitro experiments. Phylogenetic analysis of strains harboring one of the genes necessary for thaxtomin A biosynthesis supported the hypothesis of sharing the pathogenicity island by horizontal gene...

Porovnání paleo a recentních společenstev sladkovodních rozsivek z ostrova Vega, Antarktida. / A comparison between paleo and recent freshwater diatom communities from Vega Island, Antarctica.

Bulínová, Marie January 2019 (has links)
In Antarctica, diatoms inhabit multiple limno-terrestrial habitat types, which may each individually offer unique ecological information for use in biomonitoring, paleoecology, and biogeography. However, we are still at the initial exploration stage of documenting the diversity among habitat types from different Antarctic regions, which is necessary to serve as baseline data for the aforementioned scientific disciplines, and ultimately inform conservation decisions. To gain insight into the spatial and habitat controls on Antarctic diatom communities, the importance of habitat type and island aspect was investigated by studying diatoms living in ponds, mosses, streams, and seepage areas on two opposite sides Vega Island, Antarctic Peninsula. A diverse flora of 136 taxa belonging to 31 genera was revealed, which was dominated by the genus Nitzschia, and suggests that the flora of Vega Island is biogeographically influenced by both continental and Maritime Antarctic bioregions. Habitat type was found to be a crucial factor for diatom community composition, and was stronger than the influence of island aspect. In ordination analyses, moss samples were separated primarily by their abundances of the diatom Chamaepinnularia krookiformis, while pond samples were separated by Nitzschia paleacea and stream...

Jihlavský jazykový ostrov před rokem 1939 / Language isolate of Jihlava before 1939

Karafiát, Jakub January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this MA dissertation is to focus on the language isolate of Jihlava mostly in the 20th century. In particular, on the events regarding the situation during the First Republic, when the tension between the Czech and German speaking citizens started to increase. The first part will be dedicated to a territorial and administrative division in order to establish grounds upon which the discussed events will be clarified and described in terms of ethnic and territorial situation. To resume the topic of my BA thesis and to accentuate the facts and results with regard to geographical demarcation, I would like to focus on the presidial writings from which I have already drawn in said thesis. I will attempt to reconstruct all the sources, except for the letters taken from archives which I have already used in my BA thesis. Emphasis will be put on the policy situation and then reports of the security authorities which were monitoring the difficult situation in the language isolate of Jihlava and which were reporting all the relevant information.
