Trilogie Milénium v žánrových proměnách / The Millennium trilogy in the genre transformationsHofmanová, Petra January 2016 (has links)
In the thesis I would like to focus on the very topical literary work: Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson who died in 2004. The trilogy consists of three parts: The girl with the dragon tattoo, The girl who played with fire and The girl who kicked the hornets' nest. The trilogy will be examined from the perspective of genre determination. With the professional literature I would like to describe each genre and it's possibility of use. I would also like to find a typical features of particular genre in different forms: situations, characters, conflicts, etc. One part of my thesis will be dedicated to the writer and his autobiography traits. I would also like to turn to the fourth part of the trilogy by David Lagercrantz. I will try to answer the question why the trilogy has been extended, what literature genre is characteristic for the writer and what changes have been made in content or formal features of the story. During my work I would like to compare the trilogy with other Nordic literature pieces to find the cause of increasing sale of this kind of literature nowadays.

Role senátního filibusteru ve fungování politického systému USA / The Role of the Senate Filibuster in the US Political SystemDopieralla, Jakub January 2016 (has links)
This thesis deals with legislative obstruction in the United States Senate. It presents the filibuster as one of the key procedural tools in the hands of a legislative minority during the consideration of legislative proposals, presidential nominations and international treaties. At first it presents the main theoretical approaches to the topic and the historical development of Senate procedures. A key theme of the work is the necessity to distinguish between formal and informal provisions that determine how Senate business is conducted, since the formal text of the Standing Rules of the Senate is rutinely bypassed by alternative strategies. The last part of the thesis confronts the existing theoretical approaches with the important procedural changes of the last several years and assesses whether these models are still valid in light of the new Senate procedures.

Velké americké mýty: Budování národa a politika identity ve Spojených státech amerických / Great American Myths: Nation-Building and Identity Politics in the United States of AmericaPyshkin, Dmitry January 2021 (has links)
This thesis attempts to analyze the American Thesis, also the American Creed or the American Ideology (the terms as used by Anatol Lieven in America Right or Wrong: An Anatomy of American Nationalism) as the United States` national identity. In interaction with a set of national myths, the American Thesis constitutes the narrative of US America`s identity, the nation`s 'common sense' and morality. The thesis begins with the definition of the phenomenon of the nation as a political and cultural community, then proceeds to discuss the specific contexts from which the narrative image of the US nation emerged. Next, the thesis studies the American Creed as the cultural instrument of fostering social cohesion and assimilating uncanonical dissent. Finally, the myths of US nationalism are analyzed in the context of their narrative structure and affective dynamics which account for the ontological and emotive power of the American Thesis. Key words: the USA, US nationalism, the American Creed, myth, nation-building, national identity

This thesis deals with humour on Facebook, I examine the themes and practices of humorous posts that are related to the direct election of the President of the Czech Republic,in particular to the two candidates who got into the second round of presidential elections, Karel Schwarzenberg and Miloš Zeman. In the theoretical part I introduce humour from a theoretical point of view. I identify three central theories, types of jokes and function of laugh. In subsequent chapters I define the basic assumptions that lead to the involvement of fans in the creation of online posts, which can circulate through social networks. I present new tools in online political marketing and summarize the basic topics of the official campaigns of both candidates. In the practical part I analyze, using the grounded theory, how and why Facebook users worked with humour in posts which respond to the presidential election. The material which was searched, can be described as illustrated jokes, photos with or without text, collages, comics or cartoons from official and unofficial Facebook pages of both candidates.
