Jazykové prostředky mongolského původu v české próze / The linguistic resources of Mongolian origin in Czech proseOchirbat, Munkhtuya January 2012 (has links)
- The diploma thesis deals with linguistic devices of Mongolian origin in two Czech proses: Paměť mojí babičce Petra Hůlová (2002) and Krotitelé ďáblů Ludvík Souček (1965), which were written in different times. The linguistic devices served as multilingualistic function in the proses. Particularly, the thesis emphasizes on descriptions of treatment with Mongolian linguistic devices and methods of incorporation into Czech language in the proses. The Mongolian appellations in the proses are interpreted by a native speaker of Mongolian who speaks Czech as a second language. Each prose will be analyzed separately according to the order of Mongolian expression's occurences in the each prose. key words - multilingualism, czech prose, mongolian expressions, mongolian cultural studies

Svět amazonských čarodějů v próze Césara Calva / The world of the Amazonian magicians in the proseKovandová, Jana January 2014 (has links)
This work will consist of an analysis of the book The Three Halves of Ino Moxo and other wizards of the Amazon (Tres mitades de Ino Moxo y otros brujos amazónicos) written by the Peruvian writer César Calvo. It will mainly focus on the author's attempt to understand the different and wrongfully underestimated spiritual world of the Amazonian Indians. Firstly, it will briefly introduce the author and mention the situation in Peruvian literature of the time. It will then look at the context in Latin American literature and will point out the common aspects of the book with novels of the jungle, with indigenist literature, and with the novels of magic realism and marvelous real. The core of the work will lie in the interpretation of the text. It will try to answer the question on the genre of the book and will then define its composition. Of particular importance will be the chapter on style, which will analyse in details the lyrical character of this prose. It will give evidence of the frequent use of poetic figures in the book by presenting examples thereof. It will look at the way of creating time and space. Cruz e Sousa: "zazděný" básník brazilského symbolismu / Cruz e Sousa: the "walled-in" Poet of Brazilian SymbolismKorpaczewski, Pavla January 2019 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with the analyse the poem in prose "Walled-in" by Brazilian black symbolist poet João da Cruz e Sousa. At the beginning it outlines the author's life and work. An insight into the starting points of Symbolism follows, accompanied by a detailed characterization of the essential features of its poetics as represented in the works by Cruz e Sousa. The analysis itself begins with the definition of the poem genre in prose and a brief outline of the content of the "Walled-in", which is a synthesis of the poet's artistic and life options resulting from being a black man. On this basis, I have determined the fundamental themes (Night, Art, Pain and Blackness), in which the poet's exclusion as an artist and as a negro. The initial intimate confession turns into a fiery speech that fights back narrow- minded artistic production of the period and the Negro discrimination.

This dissertation aims to provide an insight into English country house fiction by twentieth and twenty-first century authors, such as E.M. Forster, Evelyn Waugh, Iris Murdoch, Alan Hollinghurst, and Sarah Waters. The variety of literary depictions of the country house reflects the physical diversification of the buildings in question, from smaller variants to formerly grand residences on the brink of physical collapse. The country house is explored within the wider social and cultural contexts of the period, including contemporary architectural development. Given the exceptionally evocative and integrating properties that the influential theories of Martin Heidegger and Gaston Bachelard attribute to a house in general, it is unsurprising that the concept of the country house has inspired discussion of such a wide spectrum of topics. Its unique centring quality is echoed in the dense intertextuality prominently marking its literary representations, and enables the successful implementation of various temporal idiosyncrasies, which often set the house apart from the habitual passing of time.
