The thesis targets at events which took place in the town of Prachatice and its surroundings at the end of the Second World War. It is based on written sources (filed in the State District Archives Prachatice), as well as on literature sources focusing on this topic and eyewitness memories. The first part presents a brief characterization of the town from geographical, social and economic point of view. The second chapter deals with events taking place in September 1938 when Prachatice was occupied by Nazi Germans. The third part shortly depicts the process of front war situations in Europe. The main part of the thesis consists of chapter 4 and 5 which present the way of living and events happening in the town from January 1945 to May 1945 when Prachatice was liberated by the US army. The thesis aims to connect general relations with events that happened in Prachatice and its surroundings not only to illustrate the topic from literature sources but also from people{\crq}s own memories. It tends to depict this period full of worries and hope. It is hoped to contribute to completion of the town history.

Práce zpracovává renesanční fasádní nástěnné malby a sgrafita v Prachaticích. Časově je práce vymezena 16. stoletím, kdy město vlastnili Rožmberkové. Největší rozkvět města je spojen s vládou Viléma z Rožmberka v 2. polovině 16. století, kdy ve městě také vnikly všechny výpravnější figurální výzdoby domů. Výzdoba jednotlivých domů odráží postupný majetkový vzestup prachatických měšťanů. Realizace z 50. a 60. let 16. století jsou spíše výtvarně a také technologicky skromnější. Největší vzepětí jak majetkové tak také umělecké lze sledovat od začátku 70. let. Hrdost měšťanů a jejich estetické nároky nejlépe dokládá výzdoba Staré radnice. Nesmírně zajímavá a kvalitní výzdoba prachatických domů otvírá jako celek řadu otázek. Vedle dílenských a uměleckých souvislostí s ostatními jihočeskými městy, je to problém autenticity památky. Na některých fasádách, které byly pokládány za renesanční, se již s renesanční malbou ve skutečnosti nesetkáme. Jedná se o barokní novotvary, které motivickými částmi navázaly na původní výzdobu. Výrazné jsou odkazy na Rožmberky, které připomíná téměř každá fasáda. To nelze vysvětlit jinak, než jako výraz subordinace majiteli panství a tamnímu panovníkovi. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the factors that influences women's return to labor market after maternity leave in Prachatice district between years 2008 and 2015. Based on the teoretical resources there are created questions of semi-structured interview which is conducted with sixteen women from Prachatice district with children at age from 0 to 7 years. The part of the thesis is also analysis of labor market in the district in mentioned time period using the data relates to the employment and unemployment of women. Based on the results, the hypotesis is verified:"Women in Prachatice district deemed the return to the labor market after maternity leave as complicated and local labor market does not fit to their requirements." Women find job offers for mother with children as deficient, shows heavily dependence on help from extended family, in district is low supply of care facilities for younger children, operating time of kindergartens doesn't correspond to the needs of working mothers. The study includes recommendations for Prachatice district suggested by author which are added-value to the thesis. There is no study dealing with the situation of women in labor market yet, the results might be a stimulus for further researches.

This thesis deals with the evaluation of the quality of life in rural communities in the Region of Prachatice. The thesis is also focused on the evaluation of the economic weakness of the municipalities, its causes and manifestations, and, at least, the possibility of improving life in these communities. An integral part of this work is finding those sources of funding and the related use of funds and grants. In the theoretical part, I have discussed the importance of the regional and social policy focusing on rural issues and their development, with the development of the regions linked to the use of subsidies and the disbursement of funds, especially funds of the European Union. In the practical part, contingency tables and cluster analysis are used, as well as special methods. The results of this study has confirmed that quality of life in LFA municipalities and their economic weakness depends on the size of the village. The conclusion provides an overall assessment of the work and its results.

The dissertation deals with building development of the town of Prachatice in second half of the twentieth century. In the initial chapters briefly outlines the development of the town from its foundation to the mid of the twentieth century and describes the changes in architecture and civil engineering after the communist party took control over the country in 1948. The core of the dissertation is introduced in following chapters in which the author aims to the building development of the town in second half of the twentieth century and the demolition works which done for the purpose of building new administrative and residential houses. The work also deals with several particular buildings in Prachatice and public art staged during socialist normalization era. The ending of the work is dedicated to the impact of socialistic urbanization on present-day town.

The diploma thesis "Periodical press in Prachatice region during interwar period" deals with Czech and German periodicals which were published in the above mentioned period in the territory of Prachatice County. The thesis focuses on the main newspapers of the region in connection with the sociohistorical events and political development in the border area. The goal of the thesis is dealing with the typology of periodical press in Prachatice region and exploring whether the events which had happened in the town of Prachatice and its surroundings had any influence on the local periodical press. The thesis makes use of formal, content and comparative analysis. The thesis presents a survey of the development of the Czech and German press during interwar period, further on it deals with the explanation of the situation in Prachatice on the background of historical and political events in the country. The main part of the thesis includes the characteristics of principal periodicals for the Czech and German population with the subsequent content analysis. The thesis originated on the basis of the available literature referring to the topic and on the basis of accessible sources deposited in the State District Archives in Prachatice.

The diploma thesis called "Regional Education of the Local Region Taught at the Lower Grade of Elementary School (Based On the Example of ORP Prachatice)" deals with the problems of teaching about local region in the subject of Geography taught at the lower grade of elementary school. The theoretical part koncerns the geographical characteristics of the region and the place of the thesis among the curriculum. The second part consists of the didactical material aimds to 4th and 5th graders of the elementary school in the region of Prachatice. The material has its grounds in the information collected in the theoretical part. The didactical material is supplemented with worksheets and didactic guide for teachers. The practical part is based on the present Framework Educational Pragramme for Elementary Education.

Districts Prachatice and Vimperk could be marked within Czech Republic as peripheral territory with decreasing population. These losses are especially noticeable in mountain areas of these districts. Decreasing of numbers of inhabitants and schoolchildren leads to disappearance of local elementary schools and to reducing the number of pupils in these schools, and also to transformation of full elementary schools to incomplete elementary schools, mostly in form of small village schools with one or two classrooms. Diploma thesis monitors territorial distribution of elementary schools, territorial arrangement of their school catchment regions, territorial distribution of schoolchildren, availability of elementary schools with school buses and trains, takes stock of fullness of elementary schools and their classrooms, that all with goal to optimize territorial distribution these schools and their school catchment regions. Moreover, analysis of facilities elementary schools and their space and building characteristics are contained in diploma thesis. A separate attention is dedicated to elementary schools in Šumava part of study area, where solutions to sustain these schools even with small number of pupils are sought.

The dissertation thesis focuses on independent local lists (ILLs) in local elections in the Czech Republic. The research approaches the issue from various views. It studies formation of independent local lists in five specific towns, cities: Brno, Brno, Mnichovo Hradiště, Praha 10, Prachatice a Vodňany. It is related to ILLs: To Live Brno, We Live for Hradiště, the coalition Vlasta, Living Prachatice and the Vodňany for Change. Beside this five case studies, the research is dealing with topic of rising electoral support for ILLs in 27 statutory cities. The dissertation thesis is working with several theoretical concepts such as phenomenon of the cartel party, anti-party sentiments, non-political politics and development of political participation. The thesis is answering the question of how are the ILLs formed in relation to engagement of their representatives in civil society. According to my thesis, organization of civil society are more inclusive and open for participation than political parties. But this participation, outside political institution has its limits. These limits are reasons for forming independent local lists and pursuing political office. This thesis deals with the charting of jewish settlement in Sumava and Posumavi, and also with history and present of the selected villages - Vimperk, Čkyně, Vlachovo Březí, Volyně, Dub, Prachatice and Volary. The first part characterises the jewish settlement in Sumava and Posumavi. Furthermore, it describes aforementioned villages and occupied with their jewish history, sights, personalities and current condition. The second part contains questionaire with 10 basic questions, regarding to jewish history at Prachaticko, and also contains comparison of three surveyed schools: Elementary school Husinec, Elementary school Vlachovo Březí and Prachatice High school. In every surveyed school, there were questioned scholars of 8th and 9th classes. The best results reached scholars of Prachatice High school, then of Elementary school Vlachovo Březí and the last place tooked by scholars of Elementary school Husinec. Despite the fact that this issue is not occupied until 9th class, knowledge of scholars in 8th class is high.
