The objective of this work is to study the evolution of the educational system of Guinea-Bissau, between the years 1974 and 2012, considering its historical conditions, socioeconomic, and educational policies and their effects on the development of the country. We also have analyzed the impact of the Project Africanidade in this context. For the construction of the analysis, we used the approach of ex post factoresearch, since the research has raised the relations of cause and effect between various facts and phenomena. Questionnaires on the importance of improving the educational system of Guinea were administered to students, teachers and mediators of this project. / Este trabalho se propõe a dar uma contribuição ao estudo do sistema educativo guineense, com a finalidade de apresentar dados sistematizados que contribuam para suprir as deficiências de literatura sobre a situação educacional do país. O objetivo deste trabalho foi de estudar a evolução do sistema educacional da Guiné-Bissau, entre os anos de 1974 e 2012, considerando suas condições históricas, socioeconômicas, políticas e educacionais bem como seus reflexos no desenvolvimento do país. Analisou, também, o impacto do Projeto Africanidade nesse contexto. Para a construção da análise, foi utilizada a abordagem da pesquisa expost-facto, uma vez que a investigação levantou as relações de causa e de efeito entre diversos fatos e fenômenos. Foram aplicados questionários a alunos, a professores e a mediadores do referido projeto acerca de sua importância para melhorar o sistema educacional guineense.
