Francisco Campos, se procurou mostrar o papel ideológico do intelectual para a manutenção e consolidação do poder político. Ao mesmo tempo em que, no caso específico da educação, se verificou que a prática pedagógica, muito além do discurso que a orienta, pode vir a ser transformadora. A psicóloga, tendo atuado na área da Psicologia, formando professores e trabalhando com deficientes mentais e na área de preparação do magistério rural, alcançou renome nacional e internacional e empreendeu através do auxílio da iniciativa privada, uma instituição rural de cunho educativo para os sub-dotados e pessoal destinado ao magistério nas zonas rurais / Abstract: By examining the way of thinking and acting of the Russian psychologist Helena Antipoff we intended to point out the ideological role of intellectuals in efforts to preserve and consolidate political authority. She carne to the Sate of Minas Gerais in the late 1920's after being invited by the Secretary of Internal Affairs Dr. Francisco Campos. In the specific case of Education, however, it became evident during the analytical work that the pedagogical practice may promote a transformation well beyond the guide lining official rhetoric. The psychologist achieved a solid reputation at national and international level while carrying out research in the area of Psychology by means of educating teachers and working with mentally handicapped as well as preparing teachers for the rural areas.
