Detta är slutreflektionen över ett kandidatarbete gjort av Karl Tannergård och Per Thulin. Arbetet har gått ut på att skapa en prototyp av en barnspel baserat på Inger och Lasse Sandbergs böcker om Lilla Spöket Laban och hans familj. Spelet är tvådimensionellt och vänder sig till barn i åldern fyra till sju år. Det är skrivet i programmeringsspråket Python och använder multimediabiblioteket pygame. This thesis deals with design and implementation application, that should be equivalent to several eletronic devices such as DVD player or videotape recorder. Computer used for this purpose is often branded as Home Theater Personal Computer (HTPC). This thesis studies available multimedia libraries and software in operating system Linux, that is used to create designed application. It shows some similar existing application to create HTPC either commercial or opensource.

This diploma thesis deals with a design and construction of an embeded camera trap with a video recording and night vision support, which is able to self adapt to surroundings. The device is based on the Raspberry Pi platform and configurable by touch screen control with a user-friendly graphical interface. Also the web-application for easy remote administration was developed in Ruby On Rails framework. The camera trap was built and successfully tested under the real conditions. There are also typical application cases and requirements for camera trap construction described in this thesis.
