Projektet Motorcenter Nynäshamn är tänkt att bidra med en variation av funktioner till Nynäshamns tätort, Nynäshamns kommun samt till södra Stockholms län som helhet. Centret är en Multifunktionell byggnad med ett varierat program med kombinerat fordon och människor i fokus. En stor del av byggnaden är en workshop där folk kan mecka med sitt eget fordon. Kombinerat med detta är ytor för utställning, föreläsning, möte, lärande med mera. Det större utrymmet för föreläsning kan också användas för andra typer av möten och utställningar. Byggnaden innehar Resturang, café, kontor att hyra samt andra typer av möteslokaler. En stor terass på över våningen överblickar den tillhörande mindre racingbanan som är till för träning och rekreation. Ett ställe för att exempelvis kunna testa sitt fordon man precis har arbetat på.Strukturen är genomgripande betong med de karaktäristiska valven av varierande storlek. Dessa valv som blir byggnadens uttryck både utifrån och inifrån har tre primära syften: att slussa igenom fordon genom byggnadens olika ytor på bottenplan, släppa in ljus samt ge det speciella uttrycket byggnaden har på sin plats i skogen, synlig från vägen. / The project Motorcenter Nynäshamn is planned to contribute with several functions to Nynäshamn, its commune and to the southern part of Stockholm region. It’s a multi purpose building with a diverse architectural program with vehicles and people as the center of attention. A significant part of this building is the workshop where people can come to work on their own vehicle. In combination with that, the Motorcenter has spaces for exhibitions, education, lectures meetings and more. The larger area for lectures can also be used for other types of meetings an exhibitions. Furthermore the building accommodates a Restaurant, café, office spaces for renting and other kinds of gathering areas. On the upper floor, there is a large terass overlooking the racetrack which in combination with the building provides a possibility to test your vehicle out after you’ve been working on it in the workshop.The structure is largely in concrete with the characterising vaults of different sizes. These vaults become the expression of the building both from the inside and the outside. The vaults has three primary purposes: bring in light, allow vehicle movements through out the building and provide the buildings specific appearance, in its place in the woods close to the road.
