MODEL ZAVÁDĚNÍ A ŠÍŘENÍ REGIONÁLNÍ ZNAČKY / Model of regional brand introducing and spreading

The dissertation thesis is focused on regional brands. The main objective was to create a general model of regional brand introduction and its further spread. A perspective of the business entity is taken. The model was then applied to the South Bohemia region of Czech Republic. A decision support system was designed from this application to help the entrepreneurs to implement the most effective regional brand for them. The thesis also defines the basic terminology associated with regional brands. The conclusion formulated recommendations on the further development of the model, respectively, other application of the model and further researches.

Regionální značky a jejich úloha na spotřebitelském trhu potravin

The thesis deals with regional brands and their role in the consumer food market, where the theoretical part to the introduction explains the basic concepts related to consumer behaviour and respect for regional consumer brands. The following is an explanation of concepts such as food quality, safety and support local producers and what is imaginable about concepts of brand and regional brand. The theoretical part is further given literary review of selected regional brands in South Bohemia, Czech Republic and European union countries (selected neighbouring countries of Czech Republic), which is finally complemented by a clear analysis of regional labelling. In the practical part was created questionnaire, a total consisting of 25 questions that answered respondents, who were elected on the basis of the quota selection method, where the main criterion was the age of respondents. The aim of the survey was to determine the most important regional brands and their position on the regional consumer market of South Bohemia.

The aim of this work is to compare marketing communication of two chosen food quality brands and to analyse their influence on a selected target group. On behalf of this comparison there would be suggestions for changes influencing perception of these two brands amongst target group. The first hypothesis, which says the brand Regionální potravina is in the Southern Bohemia from chosen events to prompt sales more famous than the brand Chutná hezky. Jihočesky, was confirmed. The research also reported that responders from all these events know more the brand Regionální potravina than the brand Chutná hezky. Jihočešky, only at exhibitions and trade fairs is the brand Chutná hezky. Jihočesky known the same. The hypothesis no. 2, which says the brand Chutná hezky. Jihočesky is more famous from local media than the brand Regionální potravina, was disproved. The brand Chutná hezky. Jihočesky is better known amongst responders only from local radio and external advertisement. Through other forms of media communication such as local news, television, internet presentation and social sites got more famous the brand Regionální potravina. The third hypothesis like the second one was proved false. The awareness about the brands Regionální potravin and Chutnáhezky. Jihočesky is not equal from famer's shops and healthy food shops. The brand Regionální potravina is from these shops twice as famous amongst consumers as the brand Chutná hezky. Jihočesky. For each hypothesis were made suggestions to improve the evaluation of marketing communication for chosen food quality brands. To finish it we can say both brands are in responder's eyes known amongst consumers thanks to the marketing communication and compared with other quality brands they hold a solid position. At last it must be underlined that producers by themselves can improve the recognition of these brands mainly by labelling their appraised products and by personal presence on the sales prompting events. When a consumer meets face to face with the producer and not only with a third party that has no linkage to given products, he builds a personal relationship towards these products and this can influence the consumer's decision making process when buying.

This diploma thesis shows regional branding, especially regional brands associated in the Association of Regional Brands (ARZ), which is given to products. The marked products guarantee their extraordinary quality, tradition, specificity, proportion of manual work and respect for the environment. The author chose one of all brands in ARZ - i. e. Kraj blanických rytířů - regionální produkt(registered mark). In the theoretical part, there are issue of regional branding and key words connected with regional branding explained. The practical part deals with marketing research, in particular a qualitative and a quantitative method such as structured interviews and questionnaire survey. These methods will assure conduct of research essential for the objectives of the thesis. As for the main aim of the thesis, it is to find out consumers´ brand awareness and their attitude to the regional brand Kraj blanických rytířů - regionální produkt(registered mark). Findings of producers´ views on current system of the regional branding and regional co-ordinator´s activities are other aims of the thesis. This part also contains all results of the research including an assessment of established hypotheses. In conclusion, the proposals to the improvement of consumers´ brand awareness come.

The main part of the following thesis comprises the questionnaire survey results that were organized by one of the local action groups. The conclusion of thesis is based on the primary and secondary detective data and suggestions of their solution.

The first part discusses the effects of tourism in a region and the principles of sustainable development. Further it describes in detail how the system of regional labelling works and who is in charge of it. In addition the examples of good practice from abroad are included. The main part of the thesis focuses on a brand called "PRÁCHEŇSKO regional product". The aim of the thesis is to find out what the attitudes of visitors in the Prácheňsko region towards certified regional products are. Therefore the research through questionnaires among visitors, manufacturers, official vendors and service providers was conducted.

This diploma thesis focuses on regional brand PRÁCHEŇSKO regional product communication and its assessment. The aim of this thesis is to make suggestions to increase the efficiency of communication of the brand PRÁCHEŇSKO regional product through an analysis of this regional brand and a realization of marketing research. The theoretical part deals with the brand and its direction as well as with marketing communication. There is also a definition of terms region and regional brand included. The other part deals with an analysis of regional brand programmes, that are available on the Czech market as well as PRÁCHEŇSKO regional product. The region Prácheňsko and the system of granting a brand and the certification of products through this brand are presented. Finally, a critical analysis of the brand and its marketing communication as well as marketing research that focuses on discovering of the knowledge PRÁCHEŇSKO regional product are given. In the closing part of this thesis, suggestions that should not only lead to increase the efficiency of the brand and its marketing communication but also to increase the consumer awareness are given.

DINING OUT ON LOCAL: PATHWAYS, PRACTICES AND TRANSFORMATIONS OF FOOD FROM FIELD TO RESTAURANT

The incorporation of consumption-oriented activities into rural space can be observed in the appearance of newly valued rural amenities and the increasing frequency and popularity of culinary tourism destination marketing. In exploring the relationships between local food and culinary tourism, this research sought to better understand the impact of culinary tourism on the production and consumption of local food in Prince Edward County, ON. Interviews revealed that opportunities presented by culinary tourism are a prime motivation for restaurants to engage in the local food system, and that local food producers are less tied to their restaurant linkages than to alternative marketing channels owing to high levels of product substitutability and the opportunity costs associated with direct exchange. Additionally, it was observed that culinary tourism both inherently and paradoxically contributes to expansion of local food systems beyond regional boundaries, giving rise to a discussion on the positioning of local food as an alternative or complementary component to the globalized food system.

Работа посвящена изучению технологий формирования бренда города Екатеринбурга как региональной ИТ-столицы для молодежной аудитории – для этого есть все предпосылки и возможности. Мы предложили систему технологий брендинга Екатеринбурга как региональной ИТ-столицы, опираясь на коммуникационные инструменты данного процесса. Поэлементное внедрение частей системы показало высокую эффективность предложенных решений и перспективность переноса всей системы в плоскость ИТ-сферы Екатеринбурга с привлечением заинтересованных сторон. / The development of the place branding in the modern world can become a pledge of prosperity of the city, region and the whole country. In our work, we focused on realizing the potential of Yekaterinburg in the IT field for the effective use of the opportunities of the metropolis. The work is devoted to the study of technologies for branding the city of Yekaterinburg as a regional IT capital for a young audience - for this there are all prerequisites and opportunities. We proposed a system of branding technologies in Ekaterinburg as a regional IT capital, relying on the communication tools of this process. The element-by-element implementation of the parts of the system showed the high efficiency of the proposed solutions and the prospect of moving the entire system to the plane of the IT sphere in Yekaterinburg with the involvement of stakeholders.
