The redevelopment of the river waterfront, allowing its appropriation for socializing and recreation, enables the recovery of the importance of the river to the city. The work is organized in three parts-chapters that complement and integrate itselfes: The Problem; The Demand; The Desire. The Problem brings the analysis of Tubarão River in the urban evolution of the city and presents its current context. The demand refers to the typical erratic approaches of our cities in the 20th century, essentially, in which our urban rivers were forgotten and renegades, and the current rehabilitation trends, bringing some successful cases of recovery of the relationship between city and water, international and brazilian, and possible approaches to questioning the Tubarão case. The Desire shows the current and future possibilities of rehabilitation of the river shores of Tubarão River and its City Park. Studies of reference projects set parameters in order to justify the implementation of a linear park along the river. It also seeks that this research will serve as a basis for the creation of spaces that foster the humanization of the city and urban interaction with the river. / Sob a ótica do desenvolvimento sustentável nas cidades contemporâneas resgatar a desejável dimensão cidade águas, a pesquisa enfoca as possibilidades de resgate do Rio Tubarão, Santa Catarina, por meio do lançamento de diretrizes para implantação de um parque linear em sua extensão urbana, na dimensão da urbanidade da cidade: um grande espaço de potenciais ambiental público que perdeu sua conexão com a cidade mesmo sendo o elemento responsável pela sua formação e desenvolvimento histórico. A requalificação da orla fluvial, propiciando a sua apropriação para convívio e lazer, possibilita o resgate da importância do rio para a cidade. O trabalho se organiza em três partes capítulos que se complementam e integram: o Problema; a Demanda; o Desejo. O Problema traz as análises do Rio Tubarão na evolução urbana da cidade e apresenta seu contexto atual. A Demanda refere-se as abordagens típicas de nossas cidades no século 20, essencialmente, onde nossos rios urbanos foram esquecidos e renegados, as tendências atuais de reabilitação e trazendo referências de alguns casos exitosos de resgate da relação cidade águas, internacionais e brasileiros e as aproximações possíveis de problematização ao caso de Tubarão. O Desejo aponta as possibilidades atuais e futuras de reabilitação da orla fluvial do Rio Tubarão para concretizar o seu Parque da Cidade. Estudos de projetos referenciais estabelecem parâmetros base a fim de justificar a implantação de um parque linear às margens do rio. Busca-se também que esta pesquisa sirva de base para a criação de espaços que propiciem a humanização da cidade e interação urbana com o rio.
