The thesis focuses on probation supervision of offenders of serious crime, which can be considered a tool of in working with clients. The thesis has a theoretical-empirical character. The aim of this thesis is to determine the degree of influence of probation supervision on offenders of serious crime from the perspective of a probation officer. The theoretical part of the thesis is first devoted to the general issue of restorative justice and the Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic, which is an important institution in the field of criminal justice and social work. Then the thesis deals specifically with probation supervision. The next chapter defines serious crime and the specifics of supervision of its offenders. The supervision itself is also described from a social pedagogical perspective. The theoretical part of the thesis is rounded off by a summary of some existing Czech research in this field. The diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the effects of probation work and brings new knowledge about their effectiveness. It presents data obtained using semi-structured interviews with six probation officers and six former clients of the Probation and Mediation Service. The aim of the research is to identify and map the factors that lead to effective probation work and whether, or to what extent, the view of officials with the views of clients in their views on these factors and their use coincides. The main results include that the most significant factor influencing cooperation is the human approach of officials to clients, their support and positive motivation. The effectiveness of probation work very significantly affects the client's internal motivation to change his current situation and lead a proper lifestyle, this internal motivation is a significant element that results in the termination of an individual's criminal career. A significant finding concerns the excessive workload of probation officers, mainly in the territory of Prague, which prevents more intensive cooperation and thus greater success of probation supervision.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe and explain the main features of implementation practice of house arresting in the Czech Republic and consequently propose possible ways out in relation to subsequent (and successful) continuing of implementation procedure. In terms of theory there are reflected approaches of criminal law, criminology, penology, sociology and public policy. Within the research work, the space had been given to those participants immediately concerned and affected with house arresting agenda - judges, prosecutors, probators, ministry officers (Ministry of Justice), attorneys, watchdog organizations and experts on criminal law from academic sphere. House arresting had entered valid legal regulations in connection with new criminal law effectual since 1.1.2010. This new regulation substituted the pristine penal code. The theme of my diploma thesis is the efficiency of the probation supervision of the system of justice. My aim is to inform wheather and in which way the probation supervision helps to reduce the risk of crime's relapse. This diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first one is theoretical whereas the second one is practical. In the theoretical paragraph I explain the aims and reasons of probation supervision. The wide scope of taking advantages of this care is also mentioned. I describe all activities connected with the above. The pecularities of youngters's probation supervision are pointe dout, as well. Last but not least I inform about the course of the probation supervision and try to compare alternative sanctions to the imprisonment. A statistic survey of probation supervision in last few years makes a part of my thesis, too. The second part of my thesis is based on my practice in the centre of probation and mediation care. I mention the results of my research among the members of the working team in the above organisation and social worker's for youngsters and adults. (in English): The aim of the work was to describe the experience of the providers of assistance to victims of crime with the use of the law in their practice. The experience and the views of the providers were obtained in the form of a questionnaire survey. As a source of data for addressing service has been utilized to view all registered entities providing their services to the victims of the crimes on the web site of the Ministry of justice. The work was focused on the practical application of selected provisions of act no. 45/2013 Coll. and from its results revealed that providers in your practice are finding that the provisions relating to particularly vulnerable victims, are defined too narrowly. Also the communication between the provider and the police is not yet ideally set.

The aim of diploma thesis "Probation and mediation as a form of work with juvenile offenders" is to elaborate the social pedagogic aspects of probation and mediation activities. It is intended to be a theoretic study and is divided into five chapters. The opening chapter is concerned for causes of delinquent beaviour and offers an enumeration of factors causing the uprise of this kind of behaviour among youth. The second chapter aims at possibilities of juvenile criminality prevention. The third chapter is employed with an institution of Probation and Mediation Services, which plays an important role on the field of terciary prevention of juvenile criminality. Fourth chapter treats with concrete ways of work of probation officers with their clients. Their work is analysed in the last chapter emphasising the social pedagogic potential of probation and mediation activities. It also mentions a possibility of social support in the work of probation officers.

This thesis is concentrated on the detection and evaluation of views and experience of the institutions active in criminal procedure, namely the representatives of district courts, district prosecutions, municipal police departments of the Czech Republic and the Penitentiary of the Czech Republic. Furthermore, it deals with the position of the Probation and Mediation Service in the Czech legal system and its integration into criminal justice system. This domain is examined under three defined indicators: abbreviation of procedure, decrease of prison population and the impact of the social work implementation in justice on the offender resocialization. The investigated area was selected on the basis of study practices executed in the Probation and Mediation Service departments in Jablonec na Nisou and in Liberec, in the Prison Rýnovice and also partly by reading of expert essays, in which the results of researches concentrated on these areas are evaluated very contrarily. To achieve the objectives of the study was used a case study on probation centers in Jablonec nad Nisou and Liberec, the results were compared with a nationwide questionnaire survey.

The main aim is try to find out and evaluate the view of former clients of this service in Nymburk who were experienced social work in criminal justice. Diploma Theses focuses on what was helpful for clients, on their possible changing process and also how did clients perceived the support and the control. It is also about the opinions of the worker of Probation and mediation service, what they personally think (based on their experiences) about the real views of their former clients on this area of social work. The thesis focuses on the socio-educational work methods of the probation and mediation services and of its workers in relation to their clients with imposed probation supervision and on the opportunities for development and support of their healthy social functioning. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part initially are defined the basic concepts and terms, then it is described the target group of conditionally released from prison clients, which currently are under supervision of a probation officer. The thesis sees the imprisonment as a difficult life situation and it deals with the influence of penitentiary environment on the personality of the convict in relation to his further development. In the second part are described the specific activities of the probation and mediation service workers in relation to clients from the target group.
