Waldmannová, Eliška January 2013 (has links)
The subject of this thesis is the changing image of Prague after 1989 in the eyes of Spanish and English speaking tourists. After the "velvet revolution", the city has undergone many changes. With the liberalization of trade, restitutions of property and foreign investment, tourism infrastructure has been growing rapidly to accommodate the thousands of tourists who were flowing in to see the newly accessible city. As a result, the city and its residents have been facing many new challenges, acculturation processes and increasing globalization. The aim of this thesis is to explore the views of tourists, who visited Prague repeatedly since the beginning of the 90th to the present, on the changes of the city as well as the whole Czech society. The methodology employed included participant observation and semi-structured interviews. The research was conducted in the historical center of the city during 2010-2011 and subsequently through e-mail communication with the tourist participants. The work is complemented with quantitative statistical data describing the development of tourism in Prague. Based on the theory of the anthropology of tourism and the study of tourism, this work monitors acculturation and globalization processes leeding to the mcdonaldization of work, disneyzation and deurbanization...

Obraz české politiky v německých a rakouských denících na příkladu prezidentských voleb v roce 2013 / The image of the czech polities in german daily newspapers illustrated by the example of the presidential election in 2013

Niedermeierová, Jana January 2015 (has links)
The aim of the diploma thesis The Image of the Czech Politics in German and Austrian Daily Newspapers Illustrated by the Example of the Presidential Election in 2013 is to analyse the media coverage of the first direct presidential election in Czech Republic in 2013 in German and Austrian daily newspapers. German periodicals Frankfurter Rundschau, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Die Welt and Austrian newspapers Der Standard, Die Presse and Salzburger Nachrichten were chosen for the analysis. German and Austrian press paid extraordinary attention to this election mainly because of the topic of the expulsion of Sudeten Germans from Czechoslovakia after the Second World War, which was reopened during the pre-election discussions. Moreover, one candidate, the former Czech minister of foreign affairs Karel Schwarzenberg, spent most of his life in Austrian exile which was another reason for the German and Austrian media interest in this election. The diploma thesis analyses articles about Czech election that appeared in the selected newspapers in the period from January 1, 2013 to March 31, 2013. It focuses on the amount of space devoted to the topic in the selected newspapers and on the coverage of the election considering both content and formal aspects. It analyses also which topics came to the fore and how...

Uplatňování propagandy a metod řízení a regulace regionálního tisku v Československu 1948-1956 (na příkladu direktiv KV a OV KSČ a libereckého regionu) / x

Groman, Martin January 2011 (has links)
English abstract The use of propaganda and methods of governing and regulation of the regional press in Czechoslovakia during 1948-1956 (using the example of the guidelines of KV and OV KSČ and the region around Liberec) The presented study follows the development of censorship and the methods of media and press control in Czechoslovakia from 1948 to1953, and in particular during 1956. This study focuses mainly on the methods and processes used by the Czechoslovak Communist Party to dominate the media and how it concentrated namely on the relationship between local and regional media and the centralized governance under the powerful influence of the Czechoslovak Communist Party. After February of 1948, the mass media in Czechoslovakia took on a different role than the one it had up until that time. Even so, up until 1953, there was no official censorship office and the media fell under the jurisdiction of the Party apparatus, or alternately under the Ministries of Education, Science and Arts or Information, which accordingly managed and influenced media content. However, it was still under the curatorship of the UV Czechoslovak Communist Party, as the following work will show. As will also be shown, after February of 1948 the Communist Party was unable to gain influence over society at various levels and...

Dokoupilová, Pavla January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis on the subject of Project education in a littleclass school raises a research question: Does the inclusion of a project education in a littleclass school help to develop pupils key competencies? The aim is to describe, analyse and evaluate the use of project education at the primary level of a littleclass school. It familiarises itself with the specifics of a littleclass school and with the possibility of incorporating project education into this type of school. It points out the positives, but maybe even the dificulties of project education. The practical part deals with the realization and reflection of several projects in the littleclass school with regard to the specifics of this type of establishment. Koncept "čisté války" jako součást zahraniční politiky Spojených států amerických 1989-2001 / The Clean War Concept as a Part of United States of America Foreign Policy 1989-2001

Hejtich, Jiří January 2009 (has links)
The Master's thesis "The Clean War Concept as a Part of American Foreign Policy 1989-2001" deals with the influence of the Clean War Concept, the unwillingness of the U.S. public and politicians to risk the loss of life among members of the American armed forces, and the deployment of U.S. military missions abroad. The aim of the thesis is to verify this concept. The research examines the conditions in five selected U.S. deployments and consequent comparisons with the Clean War Concept. The selected deployments share in common the possibility that U.S. soldiers were in danger of being killed. The deployments took place between 1989 and 2001. This era, which, from an international relations perspective, can be seen as relatively homogenous, is characterized by U.S. dominance. The work includes a brief historical overview of U.S. deployments during the Cold War period and the Vietnam War in particular because the Clean War Concept was conceived as a consequence of this deployment. The thesis explains the relationship between the Revolution in military affairs in favor of the Clean War Concept, and argues that the concept allows for U.S. deployments abroad that are in accordance with it.

Prostor Ostravy v současné české literatuře / The Space of the City of Ostrava in Contemporary Czech Prose Fiction

Janáková, Bára January 2018 (has links)
We have been examinining the image of Ostrava on prose of six authors after 1989. Our aim was to find the function of such space in narrative - it can only play role of a scenery (Slawińsky term), sometimes more functions are added, which empasizes the importance of region in literature according to Urbanová: each region can become a theme or be transposed into author ́s aesthetic sense, influence creative method and become an inspiration in various ways. We have also evaluated how much the protagonists identify themselves with the urban space of Ostrava. This has been based on phenomenological approach of Norberg- Schultz Genius loci. In conclusion we have tried to summarize which themes regarding Ostrava become common for examined authors, whether they create a coherent literary utterance about Ostrava, which has similarities with Todorov ́s petersburg text of russian literature.
