Bastova, Vita January 2012 (has links)
Russian-Chinese relations have been differed by the complex and full relations, which have been highly emerged since the end of the Cold War. Transition of the power in the world system had overcome the intention of Russia and China for the closer cooperation in order to decline the American sole hegemony. Concluding the Friendship treaty, it had become the first step towards cooperation which today can be considered as stable one. Master thesis will be focused on the realist approach, which at the same time will help to evaluate Rusian-Chinese relation through the pragmatic realist prism. Analyzing the relations in a global context within further movement to regional one, I will try to experience Sino-Russian relations through different approaches and relying on the balance of power theory. Description of the strategic partnership, supported by the multipolar world view and multilateral diplomacy as the tool for the national interests promotion, the research will move towards bilateral modes estimating security, political and economic relations. All in all, the conclusion will be made in order to predict the future of the Russian-Chinese relations and results which both countries have achieved by now.

Ruský obrat do Asie: perspektivy a limity / Russia's Pivot to Asia: prospects and limits

Čechová, Barbora January 2019 (has links)
Russia's pivot to Asia has become one of the highly discussed topics among political and international relations theorists. However, diverse opinions exist on the timeframe of the pivot and on the level of favourable results of the new policies of Russia's turn to the East. Mostly, Russia is thought to be intensifying its relations with countries of the Asia-Pacific region, increasingly since the Western trade sanctions were applied on Russia after the 2014 Ukraine crisis. Academic discussion also revolves around Russia's opportunities and challenges in the region. Progressive cooperation, mainly with China, is suggested due to the growing importance of Asia and its countries: China's rapidly rising economy and military strength has made the country into a candidate for the most important world powers. On the other hand, development and modernisation of Siberia and Russia's Far East region would be necessary for efficient maintenance of any progressive relations with Asian countries. Russia would have to develop its infrastructure in the regions to enable connection and cooperation with China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Among all potential partners in Asia, China is mostly indicated as the most probable and suitable economic and political partner for Russia in the region....

Analýza ruské spolupráce s členskými státy Arktické rady v oblasti ekologie / The analysis of the Russian environmental cooperation with the Arctic Council member states

Němá, Olga January 2020 (has links)
The recently intensifying climate changes enable a large-scale economic development of the Arctic region. This region is characterized by the vast hydrocarbon resources, but also by the unique fragile ecosystem. Therefore, any economic development must be aligned with environmental protection. This protection is encouraged by the leading intergovernmental institution in this area, the Arctic Council. This master thesis aims to analyse Russian environmental cooperation with the Arctic coastal states within the Arctic Council. Its structure follows a theoretical framework, introduced by the liberal intergovernmentalism. Firstly, formation of Russian national Arctic interests is analysed, using the key legal documents. Secondly, Russia's participation in the Arctic Council is studied. Thirdly, bilateral environmental cooperation between Russia and other four Arctic coastal states is analysed. Based on the performed research, the Russian Federation is aware, that reaching its very ambitious plans for economic development of the Arctic is only possible along with improvement of environmental protection. Russia cannot ensure this alone and therefore it actively seeks international cooperation. The research also pointed out, that before the establishment of the Arctic Council, the bilateral cooperation...

Srovnávací analýza ruských prezidentských a parlamentních voleb 1993-2008 na základě teorie hybridních režimů / Comparative analysis of the Russian presidential and parliamentary elections since 1993 till 2008 from the perspective of hybrid regime theory

Radová, Ivana January 2011 (has links)
This master's thesis Comparative Analysis of Russian presidential elections 1996 - 2008 from the perspective of hybrid regime theory analyses four presidential elections in the above mentioned period and subsequently applies theoretical models of the hybrid regime theory. Such an application will allow to answer questions not only about the character of the elections - whether they can be considered democratic and competitive or not - but also about the character of the Russian regime as such. In this regard the analysis of parliamentary elections has to be also included as these take place only a few months before the presidential elections thus having a significant impact on the presidential electoral process and often on the result as well.
