The V Formation

Brettkelly, Devan K 01 January 2016 (has links)
The V Formation is a novelette which explores second-person narration, complex familial relationships, and grief. It questions what standards society sets for families, parents in particular, and what happens when your kin does not conform to these standards. As you grow older, how are you limited or how do you have authority in creating your family?

Andrapersonsvy i film

Larsson, Fredrik, Hallengren, Filip January 2017 (has links)
In this research we have explored how second-person view can be defined and applied in film. Since there is no established definition for second-person view, we originate from the gaming industry’s definitions of first- and third-person view to form a theory on how it can be defined. This origin is compared and relativized to the use of the terms first-, second- and third-person in grammar, literature, narrative and philosophy. With the use of the research methodology grounded theory, Donna J. Haraway’s technoscientific concept situated knowledges and diffraction, Karen Barad’s discussion on diffraction, and Michael Pauen’s diskussion on intersubjectivity, we argue for how second-person view can be defined and applied. We form a theory on how second-person view can be defined: Second-person view is positioned in the eyes of the person involved in the interaction/situation with the first-person. The theory is then adapted to be applied in film: Second-person view positions the camera in the eyes of the person that the protagonist is interacting with. From this theory we have made films with second-person view, and tested second-person view in reality. We then have seen how second-person view effects and diffracts the film medium, by giving a new view into the medium. From this research, there is much that can be evolved and improved with the definition of second-person view, and how it can be applied.

A realização do objeto direto em referência ao interlocutor / The effectiveness of the direct object at the interlocutor\'s reference

Camargo Junior, Arnaldo Rebello 11 December 2007 (has links)
The aim of this study of the effectiveness of the direct object in Brazilian Portuguese (BP) at the interlocutor\'s reference, from a corpus essentially made by texts produced by students from a private school at São Paulo city. These texts consist in a request for composition directed to the production of the direct object at the interlocutor\'s reference, guided to the formal and informal registers of the language. The objective defined here is identifying the kind of complement that is produced by the students at the formal and informal registers. The main intention is investigate the second person accusatives pronominal forms as well as the clitics position, to establish connection with studies that work with the third person accusatives pronominal forms. In this sense, it was used the quantitative method of analysis, as establish by Labov, and already considerate in many studies. The results will be guided by the hypotheses described at the introduction of this study and from the confirmation of some hypotheses and the discard of others there will be establish a suit descriptive sufficient to corroborate the useless of the third person accusative clitic applied at the interlocutor\'s reference (Ramos 1999), replaced by the form \"te\" or to align the clitic \"o\" at the pronominal system of varieties of the Brazilian Portuguese from São Paulo.

Pedace, Karina 09 April 2018 (has links)
The Normativity of the Mental and the Role of the Second Person’s Standpoint. On Davidson’s Footsteps”. I offer in this paper an elucidation of the normativity of the mental in terms of the second person’s standpoint, with the hope of opening a conceptual horizon that will allow us to go beyond Donald Davidson. Aiming at this, the paper is structured as follows. In the first part I present Davidson’s original response to the mind/body problem and reconstruct his argument in favour of the irreducibility of mental concepts thesis. In the second part I deal with the feature that the peculiarity of the mental bears in his system, that is, normativity. In the third section I explore and assess the davidsonian treatment of the first, second and third person standpoints with the aim of finally narrowing down my proposal.
