Má diplomová práce se zabývá Mortgage Backed Securities, což jsou cenné papíry kryté hypotékami. V první části práce jsou MBS zobrazeny jako část skupiny strukturovaných aktiv. Je zde provedeno jejich srovnání s ostatními sekuritizačními instrumenty z hlediska struktury a vlastností a také je znázorněno jaká část jim připadá na sekuritizačním trhu. V další části je věnován důraz na podkladová aktiva MBS, tedy hypotéky. Důkladně je rozebrán americký hypoteční trh, druhy a objem poskytnutých půjček a jejich specifika. Jsou popsány polovládní agentury specifické pro americký trh, které napomáhají rozvoji hypotečního trhu. Hlavní část práce je věnována popisu tvorby Mortgage Backed Security, značná část se zabývá jednotlivými druhy a charakteristikami MBS. Je zde popsáno, jaký druh je vhodný pro určité typy investorů. Důraz je kladen na riziko předčasného splacení, tedy riziko spojené pouze s hypotéčními produkty. Závěrečná kapitola se věnuje jednotlivým typům MBS ze statistického hlediska. Je znázorněn jejich celkový objem na dvou hlavních trzích, v USA a Evropě, dále jsou popsány počty emisí jednotlivých druhů a další zajímavé statistické údaje spojené s MBS trhy.

This thesis is focused on issue of Shadow banking and Hedge funds. The first chapters of this thesis are dedicated to analysis of this topic from the perspective of different definitions, entities, instruments, activities or problematic aspects. It may give an own notion to the reader about this topic. Size estimation of Shadow banking in the Czech Republic is done in further chapters of this thesis. According to available sources this estimation has not been done yet by anyone. In connection with Hedge funds is tested a strategy that is considered as one of the most used in this sphere.

The theme of my thesis is the role of securitization of assets in American sub prime crisis and following global financial crisis. The trend of securitization was putting through on financial markets in last decades. This trend played important part in the beginning of crisis and also in its spreading in other countries and other industries of economy. The goal of my thesis is to reveal the role of securitization in the contemporary crisis, show its impact on financial markets, point out its risks and propose the possibilities of its future development.

The thesis focuses on analysis of trends in investment banking in the period 2006 -- 2010. The main trends are securitization, consolidation of investment banking and new regulation. The thesis analyses the trends in detail and explains interconnections and impact on the whole investment banking industry. The development is illustrated on a few particular investment banks and bank holding companies in Europe and the United States of America. The last part presents new regulations and proposed changes in the investment banking industry.

This diploma thesis provides complex analysis of the current development of the U.S. subprime mortgage and credit crisis. The thesis examines the major issues that have contributed to the crisis and it follows with identifying likely consequences. In the end of the paper are discussed some recommendations to help avoid future crises.

Shadow banking in the view of legal regulation Abstract This diploma thesis deals with shadow banking in the view of legal regulation focusing on the Czech territory. Although the shadow banking sector amounts almost to the same extent as the traditional banking, its legal regulation is barely discussed in the Czech Republic. So this work aims at stimulation of that kind of debate. Shadow banking contributes to more effective redistribution of the financial means between investors and debtors. Nevertheless, due to its nature it involves significant systemic risks, which played a crucial role during the spread of the mortgage crisis in 2007-08. Therefore this area has to be regulated. In the first part the thesis explains the term shadow banking including the entities and activities, which are able to be classified within this sector, and the risks, which it carries. In the second part the work deals with the current legal regulation of this area and points to the advantages and the deficiencies. Finally, in the third part it provides with the proposals regarding the deficiencies. The Effects of the Financial Crisis on the Regulation of Financial Markets with a Focus on Securitization Abstract The thesis investigates the influence of the financial crisis on financial markets regulation, with a focus on securitization. In its first part, it attempts to identify the causes of the financial crisis from years 2008 and 2009. It builds up the attention onto the regulatory tendencies of the 20th century from the Great Depression until the 2008 financial crisis. Then it focuses on the monetary policy of central banks, especially the FED in the USA and its influence on the mortgage market.The following part contains a brief description of the development of the US mortgage market and the start of mortgage loan securitization. The chapter of financial crisis also addresses the role of rating agencies in the securitization system and their impact on the creation of toxic assets. The main part of the thesis is dedicated to securitization, where it is analyzed its economic essence, legal definitions and process of securitization, which is further divided into traditional and synthetic securitization. This diploma thesis deals with the relationship between the security and media discourse. Securitization, a model originally developed by the Copenhagen school, is here understood as a long term process which depends not only on a one-time designation of a certain phenomenon as a security threat, but it is co-constructed by many factors and agents. The media represents the world; it both reflects and forms its picture Critical discourse analysis enables the examination of the construction of security threats in the particular texts plus it also involves contextual factors in which it expands and deepens the insight into the particular issue. This work attempts to show through which means and in what respects Islam is or is not represented as a security threat in a chosen part of Czech online news discourse. It especially emphasizes the role of news values, routines and dominant ideology in securitizing processes.

This diploma thesis deals with a considerable innovation of modern finance, insurance securitization. For better understanding of this concept it is important to consider insurance securitization in a broader context of financial securitization, which is presented in the first chapter. In the second part of this work the factors which have led to the development of insurance securitization are mentioned. Then there is a short comparison of insurance securitization with financial securitization and description of various secured products with discussing their positive and negative aspects. Finally, the thesis is concluded with some thoughts regarding the near future of insurance securitization. The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate using of insurance securitization as an alternative way of transfer risk, analyze its weaknesses and propose possible solutions.
