Does the urban public transport system benefit from shared micromobility – empirical evidence on user behavior and emission balance of shared micromobility services in cities

Weschke, Jan Volker 25 July 2024 (has links)
This thesis analyzes empirically the user behavior of shared micromobility users in regard to public transport, fares and prices as well as the modal shift and the resulting impact on emissions. This aligns to the overall question presented in the introduction, whether shared micromobility is overall beneficial for the (public) transporation system or not. To analyze this, four empirical studies were carried out, performing statistical analyses based on a user survey as well as real trip data. Each study deliveres new evidence on the usage of shared micromobility and thus contributes to existing literature.
