Lifestyle market segmentation - efficiency and ethical issues / Tržní segmentace podle životního stylu - Efektivnost a etické aspekty

Pilstl, Michaela January 2010 (has links)
Lifestyle market segmentation can be very supportive for a successful marketing strategy of a company. However it is not clear whether lifestyle market segmentation is efficient and ethical or not. Several market segmentation concepts such as Cross-Cultural Consumer Characterization, VALS, PRIZM NE, Mosaic, ConneXions NE and GfK Roper Consumer Styles are analyzed in order to give an extensive overview of the offered concepts. The observation of efficiency issues in regards to market segmentation comes to the result that there is a significant lack of empirical data and a shortage of determined factors which can improve market segmentation efficiency. Moreover, lifestyle market segmentation cannot be exclusively identified as ethically right or wrong, but depends on the individual ethical decision-making of a marketer.

Máme své české yuppies nebo bobos?: Hledání dvou specifických životních stylů / Do we have our Czech yuppies or bobos?: Searching for two specific lifestyles

Burianová, Anna January 2014 (has links)
Diploma thesis discusses yuppie lifestyle and its successor bobo lifestyle in the context of postmodern transformation of society. Through the construction of weighted additive index of yuppie and bobo lifestyle the study is asking whether the young, economically active Czech population tends to these ways of life, or even has their representatives, to what extent they meet the American image of yuppies and bobos, which is their socio-demographic profile and mutual relationship. These questions are examined twice, in 2001 and in late 2011 and 2012, so we can observe development of these two lifestyles in terms of Ingelhart's transition theory from materialist to post-materialist values . The thesis shows that we can find a group of people professing the whole set of yuppie atittudes and also a group that is with some reservations similar to bobos. Detected high rate of closeness of both lifestyles, however, leads to a redefinition of purely materialistic yuppies for the Czech environment and to identification of yuppie lifestyle with post-materialist consciousness. Bobos are permanently characterized only by university education, pos-materialistic yuppies also by the highest personal income and household income. Number of post-materialist yuppies is more than twice bigger than bobos, during the...

Role pánských lifestylových časopisů na českém mediálním trhu se zaměřením na časopis Maxim / Role of the Men's Lifestyle Magazines on the Czech Media Market with Focus on the Maxim

Kubištová, Lenka January 2013 (has links)
The thesis "Role of the Men's Lifestyle Magazines in the Czech Media Market with Focus on the Maxim Magazine" deals with the analysis of five lifestyle magazines for men situated in the Czech Republic in 2011 - Playboy, Esquire, FHM, ForMen, and Maxim. The thesis begins with a brief introduction into the history of the studied magazines in the Czech Republic and further examines them from the content, language, and graphics perspective. Special attention is dedicated to Maxim as it is the most successful magazine in the segment. With the help of the discourse analysis in the interpretation of Teun A. van Dijk the work focuses on five categories that characterize the magazine discourse: the ambivalent approach to the traditional "heroic" masculinity, the way Maxim communicates with its readers, the role of humour (especially irony) and the magazine's view on homosexuals and women. The thesis demonstrates the ideological - sexist - base of the Maxim discourse with the support of demonstrative examples.
