Prostupnost krajiny v kontextu její fragmentace dopravní infrastrukturou a sub/urbánní výstavbou / Landscape permeability in context of it's fragmentation by traffic and suburbanization

Štambergová, Barbora January 2015 (has links)
Landscape permeability is currently significantly decreasing mainly due to anthropogenic barriers - transportation infrastructure and sub/urban development. The construction of these barriers has various environmental impacts on animals that differ among taxa. Ensuring a certain degree of permeability of the landscape is crucial for the survival of many species of organisms. Effective tools for the planning protection and restoration of the permeability of the landscape are series of models, whose theoretical framework and practical use are described in this thesis. The practical part deals with the modeling of changes in landscape permeability in the southern hinterlands of Prague. The effectiveness of the implemeted mitigation measures is also evaluated. Keywords: landscape fragmentation, landscape permeability, ecoducts, mitigation measures, suburbanization

Pozice města Říčany v pražském zázemí: případová studie rodin s dětmi / The position of the town Říčany in Prague hinterland: a case study of families with children

Chrpa, Jiří January 2015 (has links)
This master thesis deals with the question, whether the town Říčany performs functions of the local centre for its residents. Part of the text is devoted to the transformation taking place around the Czech capital. The paper uses the theoretical framework of Time geography. Using a qualitative questionnaire survey targeted at families with children, the work is trying to identify, where the residents localize their activities. The thesis also attempts to recognize the activity localisation mechanisms. Another goal was to find differences between various categories of the respondents. Children and adults working in Říčany usually localize their activities close to their home. Adults working in Prague have an elliptic activity space, in which home is however main station. One of the contributions of this work is the typology of four groups of households. In addition to long-term residents and two types of suburbanites, the group of "grounded residents" was defined. Although they have moved to the town rather recently, they usually live in the older parts of the town and localize there most of their life.

Pergl, Ondřej January 2012 (has links)
Travel behavior of Prague suburb population Abstract The hinterland of Prague is formed by the process of suburbanization, which influences the spatial structure of whole region. Changed spatial structure puts greater demand on the mobility of the population. The main aim of this work is the research of travel behavior of the Prague suburb population, who makes his movements primarily by the car. The work focuses on the factors influencing travel behavior, which are discussed in theoretical section. The next section discusses the measures against individual transport. The empirical part presents the results of survey in Prague southeast hinterland. Travel behavior is examined in terms of modal split and trip purpose. Further investagation is focused on citizens' satisfaction with the traffic situation in their municipality and reveals their sensitivity to various measures against car use. First chapters deal with theoretical questions of the suburbanization and Edge city. Next chapter defines the locality of interest - Václav Havel Airport Prague. The tool used for this is development analysis of commercial activities of Prague metropolitan area. In the case study there are analyzed commercial activities at Prague airport and its hinterland and the premises for the future development. Based on this study the locality is compared with concept Edge city. For this purpose are used criteria according Joel Garreau and following concepts and sources. Although the chosen locality is not real Edge city, it is possible to find some similarities typical for its initial phase. Long-term development of Edge cities in the USA shows the possible threats and provides with learnings for the chosen locality like for instance rebuilding or conflict with residential suburbanization.

Vztah metropolitního města a jeho zázemí / The relationship of the city and its surroundings

Komárková, Eva January 2010 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the relationship between the city and its surroundings. In the theoretical part of the thesis are at first clarified basic terms which are needed for a good understanding of the problematic together with theoretical approaches dealing with the urban form and development. Specifically - the revolutions according to Vere Gordon Childe and The life-cycle theory by Leo van den Berg. Further the thesis includes a description of the two approaches of the Keynesian theories: The theory of growth poles in the concept of Francois Perroux and The theory of cumulative causation in the concept of Gunnar Myrdal and Albert Otto Hirschman. These approaches are then compared. The practical part examines the relationship between the city and its surroundings on the basis of statistical analysis on several cases. Časoprostorová strukturace Pražské metropolitní oblasti / Time-space structuration of the Prague Metropolitan Area

Zevl, Jiří-Jakub January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses upon mobility which structures time and space of Prague's hinterland. The time-space regions are conceptualised and serve to explore the structure of suburban space. The positioning data from mobile phones are used to investigate tangential mobility throughout suburban municipalities. It happened in two time-sections which distinguish the working and the service commute. The method of the time-space regionalisation was introduced for this purpose. In total, 45 local centres were found. Moreover, their regions were delimited and two regions without cores were delimited as well. The resulting time-space regions are distinguished into three types: small inner regions, large outer regions and river regions. The case study in Dolní Břežany municipality seeks causes and consequences of centrality in local scale. The significance of the thesis lies in partial, but highly interconnected contributions in all three dimensions: theory, methodology and empirics. Key words: mobility, suburbanisation, structuration, regionalisation, mobile data, Prague, Dolní Břežany

Sociální prostředí a lokální komunity: město, suburbium, venkov / Social environment and local communities: city, suburb , countryside

Špačková, Petra January 2011 (has links)
Since the 19th century, the processes of modernization, industrialization and urbanization have fundamentally impacted the spatial organization and the actual contents of social ties. In particular, the role of place of residence in everyday life has significantly changed. Compared to the past, the spatial distance is less relevant for maintenance of interpersonal ties and non-local social relations are of growing importance. This process has been recently enhanced by development of communication technologies and the Internet in particular. The Internet has transferred many social ties into virtual communities without any spatial reference. The dissertation deals with the consequences of the above indicated changes for the social environments in urban, suburban and rural localities and it is built on the geographic perspective of social network research. The theoretical framework of the research is based on combination of the concepts of social environment and the concept of local community. Further, the conceptualization of the study of local social environment is presented. In addition, the factors undermining the differentiated social environment and the character of community ties in various types of geographical contexts are discussed. The attention is also paid to the importance of population...

Burian, Jaroslav January 2012 (has links)
OF PH.D. THESIS - RNDR. JAROSLAV BURIAN Abstract in English "Implementation of geospatial technologies into modeling of urbanization processes in strategic planning of city development" PhD thesis represents original author's approach to the modeling of urban processes by using GIS in Olomouc region. In theoretical part, urban processes and spatial structures of the cities are described in connection with geospatial technologies and digital data for studying, analysis, modeling and simulation. Practical part is divided into for separated parts to fluently binding and creating homogenous thematic block. The first part of the thesis analyses development of Olomouc city by using functional areas derived from historical urban plans (since 1930). The development of urban processes, spatial structures of the city and impacts of urbanization and suburbanization are evaluated. Second chapter describes identification, analysis and quantification of suburbanization in Olomouc suburban space. The main result is Toolbox "Suburban Analyst" in ArcGIS software that use multi- criteria evaluation method and allows identifying and quantifying suburbanization in municipalities' level. Third part analyses the readiness of municipalities and cadastral areas for suburbanization. The final values of readiness represent...
