Commons offer an opening for imagining care-based alternatives to growth-based economies and their implications on the use of urban resources, trajectories of technological development and infrastructural path dependencies. Commons are resources used and consumed by a specified community, which negotiates, regulates, and manages the resource’s distribution or production. Commoning as a practice refers not only to the management of resources but also to creating the frameworks and infrastructures in which resources turn into commons.
