<p>The objective of this examination paper is to emphasize sketches and conversations in the teaching of glassmaking in order to start a mental process and to increase the student’s ability to understand and furthermore to concretisize what is often referred to as silent knowledge within traditional handicraft. By carrying out a teaching experiment, free production (within the subject of handicraft technique) I have got an example of how such work can function. Through qualitative interviews I have got an image of how teachers and students look upon this kind of teaching.</p><p>Examples from the literature I have studied show how you can support learning by using this method. Results from both the teaching method and the interviews show that sketches and conversation, with advantage can be used in the teaching of glassmaking and that there is a need and room to develop this further.</p> / <p>Detta examensarbete har till syfte att lyfta fram skisser och samtal i glasundervisningen; både för att starta en tankeprocess och öka förståelsen, men även för att konkretisera det som ofta benämns som tyst kunskap inom de traditionella hantverken. Jag har genom ett undervisningsförsök; fri produktion (inom ämnet hantverksteknik) ett exempel på hur ett sådant arbete kan fungera. Genom kvalitativa intervjuer har jag fått en bild av hur lärare och elever ser på denna undervisningsform.</p><p>I mina litteraturstudier ges exempel på hur man kan främja lärandet genom dessa metoder. Både resultat från undervisningsmetod och intervjuer visar att man med fördel kan använda sig av skisser och samtal i glasundervisningen och att det finns ett behov och utrymme för att vidareutveckla detta.</p>
