This Master's thesis deals with reusing waste heat from the kitchen and .cold rooms of a restaurant, as a source of heat for heat pump water heater. The first part is about basic principles and theory which is needed to understand the function of heat pump and possibilities of reusing wasted heat. In the other parts, there are calculations and designs not only of a heat pump, but also coolers and ventilation unit needed for recycling of heat.

The Diploma thesis named Steam Turbine 300 MW contains the proposal of the Turboset for the steam section of the gas-steam cycle. There is a calculation of the thermal cycle, and a thermodynamic calculation of the combined high pressure - as well as intermediate pressure and low pressure parts. Strength calculation of particular parts and a check of the critical turbine speed follow on from this. This thesis includes a drawing of the cross-section of HP-IP and partial operations. My thesis has been commissioned by Doosan Škoda Power.

Vliv vrstvy oxidů na chlazení ocelových povrchů / Influence of the oxide layer on the cooling of steel surfaces

This thesis deals with the influence of the oxide layer on the spray cooling of steel surfaces. As part of the work steel samples with oxide layer are made and the thickness, porosity and surface roughness of this layer are characterized. The average thermal conductivity of porous oxide layer is determined for different regimes of oxidation. Further, the influence of the oxide layer on the heat transfer coefficient during the spray cooling is experimentally investigated on created samples and the basic numerical simulation of the cooling is done for selected experiment with oxide layer. The thesis also contains theoretical introduction to given issue.

Using the created model, design optimization of several problems was carried out with the use of selected methods of heuristic optimization. The results of the behaviour of the created model and of design optimization were then analysed and evaluated.

The increased moisture of the building materials causes the change of its mechanical and physical characteristic. In particular the high amount of loose water in construction shorten the lifetime of the building, is harmful to human beings due to biotic factors and increase the economic expenses of usage of the building. Apart from the costs of rehabilitation the loose water deteriorates the thermal insulative ability (thermal conductivity coefficient ) of perimeter masonry as well. The moisture gets into masonry not only through its deffects but also due to many different reasons. In order to improve the utility value of the buildings we have to deal with the rehabilitation of damp masonry with view to all possible causes. Only the properly working damp proofing ensures the protection against the water leaking from the subfoundation of the building. One of the direct techniques which have undergone rapid progress in last few years is the injection procedure. With use of experimental methods in my dissertation I deal with evaluation of two injection compounds used in Czech Republic and with its impact on the characteristics of the mortar. With the modern hollow bricks (system THERM) it is possible to create horizontal infusion into the lateral mortar grooves in future.

This diploma thesis presents the knowledge of wastewater reuse. The theoretical part of the thesis describes types of wastewater (greywater, brownwater, and yellow-water) and their characteristics. Further, the theoretical part describes the possibilities of re-use of wastewater as a source of water in detail, including treatment technology, and the heat recuperation from wastewater. The practical part of the thesis uses gained knowledge for designing a greywater treatment and heat recovery technology of grey water in an apartment complex.

Tepelná vodivost u nestandardních materiálů pro TZB / The thermal conductivity of non-standard materials for HVAC

The thesis is focused on the determination of the thermal conductivity coefficient on the group of thermoplastics used for 3D printing (PLA, ABS, PETG). The thesis describes the materials used for 3D printing and the design of air conditioning for the grocery store. A stationary method was used for the solution. The heat flux passing through the sample was measured and the thermal conductivity coefficient was calculated. By the chosen method, we determined the coefficient is = 0,11-0,13 W/(m·K). Comparison with the available results of other methods and authors has shown that the resulting coefficient is lower. Based on the data, it is possible to compare the thermal properties of 3D printing materials.

This Master’s Thesis deals with the design of ventilation and cooling of an under roof flat in a tenement building, built in the 1980s, and consists of five main parts. Within the first main part, the thesis is dedicated to the research of the current state of knowledge in the area ofventilation and cooling of residential premises, secondly, there is a detailed description of a particular flat, thirdly, the calculation for the optimal design of ventilation and cooling are made and, in the fourth part, suggested solutions are proposed with the following evaluation of them including the overall summary. The design of ventilation and cooling was carried out according to the design procedures with respect to the relevant standards and optimized to achieve the desired effect with respect to the requirements of the owner of a housing unit. As a solution, the ventilation of a flat by the Jablotron Futura´s ventilating unit and three variants of a flat cooling were proposed. After the evaluation of all cooling variants, the Sinclair´s multisplit system of cooling was chosen as the most suitable one.

This diploma thesis deals with design of air-water heat pump which uses natural refrigerant, propane. In the thesis there are mentioned various types of devices using the source of low-potential heat for heating. The main part of the thesis is the design of the heat pump cooling circuit. In this section, individual components are designed, the calculation and comparison of the heating factor for different operating parameters is performed. Finally, the construction of the coolant circuit and the air exchanger is designed.
