Frolík, Svatopluk January 2019 (has links)
The main aim of the thesis was to create functional and practical worksheets that would be used on excursions by secondary school students to the Botanical Garden Teplice. Based on a study of secondary school textbooks, questions were created that repeated subject matter taught at the school, but also expanded it. The questions were incorporated into three types of worksheets dealing with phytogeography, outdoor exhibits and greenhouse exhibits. Guides were created for each type of worksheet to help the person accompanying students, who can be both an employee of the Botanical Garden or a teacher. The test versions of the worksheets were tried out on 131 students from four secondary schools during field trips. The results obtained by completing the worksheets were analysed to identify the shortcomings of questions. This and substantive comments by the supervisor led to an amendment of the questions that required it, resulting in the final version of the worksheets to be used for educational activities at the Botanical Garden Teplice. Keywords Worksheets, phytogeography, Botanical Garden Teplice, guide.

The final chapter marginally sums up the work with the information about a new feature called "orchestra academy", inspired by the main czech orchestras. The thesis is attached with pictures showing the rehearsals and concerts environment in the time course and recent images of the orchestra, which enhance the possible plain and fact-like character of the whole work.

Nová synagoga Teplice / New synagogue Teplice

Hradilová, Daniela January 2017 (has links)
The project creates a representative environment for the Jewish community in Teplice. The history of the location is a main source of inspiration, since there used to be a majestic synagogue until 1939 when it was burned down. The design itself consists of four buildings above ground – a synagogue, an administration center of the Jewish community, museum and kosher restaurant, all of which are based on the same underground building with parking. Under the synagogue there is also mikveh - a ritual bath with sauna. The community center with lecture hall is located next to this base and is connected on the same level. Architecturally, the buildings are organized into a square shape on the common underground base depending on their function. Used façade materials are stone dark grey cladding. The synagogue differentiates both in shape and material. It’s exterior surface symbolises the history of the location and used fragments of the stone base of the lost synagogue. The synagogue itself is covered with golden ceramic glass surface cladding. The golden details also spread on the surrounding buildings in the form of decorative grating by the windows.

Nová sysnagoga Teplice / New synagogue Teplice

Volf, Anna January 2018 (has links)
The topic of this diploma thesis is creating an architectural study of new synagogue and center for Jewish community in Teplice. Main goal was to design a complex used not only for sacral purposes, but also for cultural and educational purposes. The intention itself was an attempt to transform the location, to highlight its specificity and to capture its Genius loci. The proposal is a set of four objects consisting of several completely different units, all intended to create possibilities for harmonious coexistence of the past and the future. The complex includes a new separate synagogue building with three utility floors, which is located on the southern side of the premises. Two other objects are a one-storey administration building and a cultural and educational center, both located in the middle of the area. The building on the northern side of the property houses the premises of a kosher restaurant, a museum and a parking lot. Its roof forms a large square and recreational zone. Due to the large altitude differences of the premises, predominant portion of the facility is designed under the ground.

The Role of Case-Hardening in the Development and Preservation of Narrow, Vertical-Walled Canyons in Adršpach-Teplice, Czech Republic

Wiggins, Shawn Austin 27 October 2012 (has links) (PDF)
The geomorphology at Adršpach-Teplice, Czech Republic is dominated by vertical-walled, fracture-controlled features including slot canyons, gorges and pillars. Surfaces of canyon walls in Adršpach are case-hardened and more resistant to erosion than the bulk of the sandstone, which appears to be fundamental to the formation and preservation of canyons. Core and whole rock samples from Adršpach-Teplice were analyzed in thin section, including SEM analysis with cathodo luminescence. XRF and XRD analyses indicated that silica case-hardened surfaces are chemically and mineralogically similar to the rock interior, while iron case-hardened surfaces have an increase in iron present at the surface as the mineral goethite. Permeability analysis indicates a decrease in porosity in case-hardened surfaces. The rock at Adršpach-Teplice is poorly cemented yet has the strength to maintain vertical faces because of a locked sand structure, which was formed by pressure solution. Fracture faces contain disaggregation and cataclastic bands that reduce porosity and increase strength. Case-hardening exists on fracture faces and other surfaces as either silica or iron. Silica case-hardening is ubiquitous in the area and consists of a slight increase in abundance of silica overgrowths and sometimes an increase in clay content. It can form on fresh surfaces in as little as five years, creating what is essentially a self-repairing material. Iron case-hardening is composed of goethite, is much less prevalent than silica case-hardening, and does not appear to be actively depositing. Lichens, fungi, and other biological material are present on case-hardened surfaces and may add to the strength of the material. The internal structure of the rock lends the strength to form and maintain the features seen at Adršpach-Teplice, while case-hardening helps to protect them from erosion.
