This diploma thesis is focused on the design of IP blocks for thermal camera. This termal camera is intended for plant research. The main part of the thermal camera is an infrared detector that detects a frequency in the range of 8 – 14 m. The analogue signal obtained is modified and subsequently digitized. The detector also includes a Peltier device which is designed for both detector cooling and heating, and is controlled by an external signal. The MicroZed development board implements IP blocks. The thermal camera is designed to be controlled from the MicroZed board. Device analysis is first described from the theoretical part to the design of IP blocks.

Plasma Heat Flux to Solid Structures in Tokamaks Petr Vondráček Energy and particle exhaust is the key issue for future fusion reactors based on magnetic plasma confinement, namely for tokamaks. Good understanding of processes controlling plasma heat fluxes impinging the first wall of tokamaks is of a main concern for fusion research. This doctoral thesis is focused on experimental investigation of plasma heat fluxes in different locations of the COMPASS tokamak. A new infrared thermography system was built for this purpose as a part of this PhD research. There are four main topics studied using the system. First of all, a narrow near-SOL heat flux channel with a very steep radial profile is characterised in HFS limited discharges. It is shown that the near-SOL heat flux decay length is consistent with the drift-based model of the SOL heat transport. Secondly, heat loading of leading edges of misaligned limiters is broadly studied. The optical approximation of the heat flux distribution around a poloidal leading edge is confirmed as a valid approach. Heat loading of a magnetically shadowed side of a toroidal limiter gap is observed experimentally for the first time confirming predictions of particle-in-cell code simulations. Možnosti energetických úspor v bytovém domě Merhautova / Possibilities of energy savings in the residential house Merhautova

The diploma thesis is about the reduction of the energy intensity of the existing residential house Merhautova. The design documentation is focused on the thermal insulation of the living area, the replacement of windows and doors according to the variant of the design, accessible entrance to the house, loggia on the south side of the building and the replacement of the roofing. At the beginning of the diploma thesis the experimental part of the thermography was performed. Images of the existing object by the thermal camera were taken and building survey for the design documentation of the current state of the building was performed. Within the theoretical calculations the energy performance certificate was processed in options of the entering the thermal bridges. The energy performance certificate with thermal bridges calculated according to the details was compared with the energy performance certificate with estimated thermal bridges. A comparison of two options of the replacement of windows and doors was made in realation of the energy intesity of the building. A preliminary budget of these two options was also calculated with regard to the expected simple return on investment due to the heat saving.

This thesis deals with an experimental study regarding the effects of the thermal conductivity of contact bodies on the friction, lubricant film thickness and temperature distribution in EHL contact. The thesis focuses on the configuration of the ball on disc contact. The contact body materials are characterized by a wide range of thermal properties. New contact pairs are proposed and used in the study in order to make the contact bodies’ thermal properties dependent on the behaviour of EHL contact. The colorimetric interferometry method is used to measure the lubricant film thickness and the infrared thermography method is used to observe the temperature distribution in EHL contact. The author presents the assumed mechanism of heat transfer within EHL contact on the basis of different heat transfer mechanisms. The same conditions – such as the Hertz pressure, mean entrainment speed, sliding speed and ambient temperature – are induced for all the contact pair combinations. That is why the differences in the results are attributed to the different thermal phenomena in the contact, caused by the thermal properties of the contact bodies. In the case of contact bodies with a reduced heat dissipation capability, a reduction of the friction coefficient of up to 50 % is observed, which is attributed to an increase in the lubricant temperature, resulting in a decrease in its viscosity. This is confirmed by the infrared thermography method, whereby a significantly higher lubricant temperature is observed in the case of a combination of contact materials with a lower heat dissipation capability.

This dissertation is focused on the research of the applicability of the thermographic method in the diagnosis of concrete bridges in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part characterizes selected defects of concrete structures and the principle of their detection. The practical part describes the measurements made in the laboratory on the test specimen and the field on the concrete bridge. Most attention is paid to infrared thermography, ground-penetrating radar and ultrasonic pulse-echo method. Based on the results of the dissertation, recommendations for the use of the thermographic test method in practice were developed.

The aim of this master’s thesis is to give information about the thermo camera measurement with error minimization. The basic concepts of thermography are explained with an implementation of postprocesing technique which uses graphically modified thermogram back projected to the scene. This is closely related to the scene design, calibration of thermal camera with projector, image rectification, thermogram processing with highlighting of interesting information and implementation of control elements as the user interface. The results obtained are analyzed and re-evaluated.
