This particular study is about the main boulevard of the city center of Tirana that is the capital of Albania since 1920. The main boulevard, which has a function of a &quot / spine&quot / of the central business district, was designed as an idea by the Italian architects in 1925. The new government needed immediately governmental buildings like minstries, a palace and a strong form that connects all of these facilities together in a monumental way. This &quot / spinal&quot / circulation system was inspired from the urban movements of that time like near city and city beautiful movement. Tirana is studied as the case by the light of historical developments of other cities. The power of the spine and its effect to the macro form of the whole city is analyzed and determined.

This thesis explores the intersection between city planning in Winnipeg, Manitoba and branding the city as a creative city, by examining several key Winnipeg planning documents, which are interpreted as enacting the collective drive to develop - and brand - Winnipeg as a Creative City. Inspired in particular by the work of Charles Landry, this study reveals how Winnipeg’s creative city identity and approach is actively crafted and defined through local planning discourses. The research seeks to expand and enrich the dialogue around the creative city, using a creative city-making framework, to encourage a more holistic and inclusive approach to what rates as a creative city, and what merits recognition as creative and creativity in a city planning context. Some of the creative themes found in Winnipeg of interest to planners include a commitment to collaboration, integration, participation and the desire to operationalize creativity within municipal governance. / May 2016

The master thesis is focused on processes of distribution of goods in urban areas which are generally called city logistics. The aim of the thesis is to fing out the potential of the application of city logistics in Ceske Budejovice.
