Integrace dvou kulturních zařízení města Turnov / Integrating two Cultural Facilities of the City Turnov

The diploma thesis deals with the integration of Kulturní centrum Turnov and Městská knihovna Antonína Marka v Turnově. The theoretical part briefly describes the area of culture, public cultural services and strategic management of cultural organizations, followed by selected techniques and methods of strategic management analysis of both organizations. In the practical part horizontal and vertical analysis of functioning of both organizations is made and their strengths and weaknesses, critical points and opportunities are described. Following the SWOT analysis there is a summary of the outcomes and strategic actions for the period of integration. The main goal of the thesis is making a decision regarding the feasibility of integration. The secondary targets are vision of future operation of the integrated organization and finding alternative book allocations.

ČASÁROVÁ V., Church administrative in the region of Turnov in the late Middle Ages, the thesis, The Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, 2014, 93 s., 4 supp. The thesis is concerned with the development and the state of the church administration in the territory of the deanery of Turnov in the late Middle Ages, primarily after the year 1419 to the end of the fifteenth century. I extended my bachelor's thesis, results of which were used there and they function as a starting point for the further research. I have focused on the structure of the land possession at the particular parish offices and the comparison of the deanery of Turnov with another deaneries. The diploma thesis deals with the tourism in the Bohemian Paradise, the emphasis is on the town of Turnov that is regarded with its neighbourhood as a tourist centre of the region. The thesis describes the last third of the 19th century and the period before the First World War. The first part of the work focuses on the phenomena associated with the development of modern tourism in the observed region, such as the growing sector of services, the advent of railways or tourist organization. This section also includes chapter on the genesis of the name Bohemian Paradise (Český ráj). The other part of the thesis analyses the town Turnov and its surroundings. After a brief introduction, the thesis studies technical and material base that the town offered to the incoming visitors. The attention is turned to accommodation and catering services, summer apartments or local guide services. The main part describes the activities of the local department of the Czech Tourist Club. This dissertation analyzes the life of Czech traveler Čeněk Paclt (1813 - 1887), who was born in the town of Turnov. Čeněk Paclt belongs to the most famous Czech travelers. He is also the first Czech, who has provably traveled through all five inhabited continents and has left written evidence about his journeys. Fundamental part of this thesis is focusing on his life and describes his adventures, which he had come across on the five continents. The thesis is written in historical, and employs historical anthropology, which focuses on a single individual in the course of human events, as one of the main methodological approaches. Secondarily, this thesis elaborates Paclt's personality and his view on aboriginal cultures, which he encountered during his travels, and Paclt's relationship towards his hometown is also mentioned. Furthermore, the dissertation touches upon traveling background in Czech nation during 19th century.
